Time management in college

Time management in college is way different from that in high school

The kind of time management you had in high school will not work once you get to college. If you are used to procrastination backing those days, you will realize that this is not possible in college. For your college career to work successfully, you need good time management.

Unlike high school, college classes do not always meet everyday. So you probably just set your projects for later. You are probably thinking that there is no rush and that you have all the time in the world to do that.

You should know that if this keeps up, you would have tons of homework, reading and projects to catch up to. When this happens, you will be put into so much pressure that you do not know what hits you.

If you want to make the most out of your college lie, then take these time management tips into consideration. They will assure that you get the quality time to ensure other college activities.

Know what is the most important thing needed to be accomplished. Be certain about things that should be your top priority. You could drop subjects that you think is not important during that semester. Create an ordered list of these important things. Then you can try and make them your top priority before anything else.

Ignore distractions. It is when you are in your most concentrated moments that your friends dropped by and asked you to go out with them. If you are like most people, then you do not have to be pushed into going.

But if you want to maintain the time management you set upon yourself, you will stay and continue on with what you are doing. There are a lot of things you can do so as not to be bothered. You can lock your door and hang up a “do not disturb” sign outside. You can also turn off telephone ringers and let the machine take all calls for the meantime.

Do not skip breakfast. It is true; breakfast is the most important meal of the day. The right breakfast will give you the sugars and carbohydrates to keep you energized throughout the day.

For the body conscious ones out there, skipping breakfast is not really a slimming option. You should know that the breakfast calories are burned fast during the day. They do not stay long in the body. By not eating breakfast, you will not only feel tired immediately, you also will not have the drive to perform your best.

Make the most of your classes. Do not take your classes for granted. You will see their importance once you get into the real world and has began work.

Avoid being late and skipping classes. Try to do some advance reading into the topics written on the class syllabus. There is nothing wrong being a step ahead of your peers. Besides, you will feel very much a genius once the professor talks about something you already know about.

Learn to say no. This is one of the best things to do to be able to manage your time well. You have to learn to say “no” to your friends asking you out. Say “no” when someone asks you to do something for them when you are busy studying or reading notes.

Just try to suggest that you will come with them or help them another time. You do not have to add more pressure to pressure; just say no when you do not feel like it. This is one way of taking priorities.

If these people really liked for you to come or you help, they are likely to agree with your suggestion and ask again when you are free.

Keep in mind that there is a time for everything. There is a time for studying. There is also a time to give yourself a break. A nap or two is one way of refreshing your mind and recovering some of your lost energy. Going outside, talking with friends or playing a game or two is also another relaxing activity.

Not all college student have the same time management needs. Each one has their own time management skills they needed to improve on to make it through their college career.

Socially anxious loved ones - what you can do to help

Living with social anxiety doesn't just affect the person who has social anxiety disorder - it can affect their loved one's as well. If you have a friend or family member who you believe has social anxiety, you can support them in a way that helps them deal effectively with the disorder.

Start by discussing the problem with your loved one - in private. This is not an intervention, and should not be handled as a confrontation of any kind. Just have a non-threatening, non-judgmental conversation about what is going on with the person. If the person already knows that they have social anxiety this will be a much easier conversation. However, if they have never been diagnosed, or discovered for themselves that they have social anxiety, this conversation can be quite difficult. It is important that you not push too hard.

You can suggest professional help, but you cannot force it - or even try to force it. The decision to seek professional help for social anxiety is a personal decision that must be made by the individual, without outside pressure. If your loved one does not feel that they need professional assistance, do some research, and find alternative personal treatments that will help, and suggest these to your loved one. Help them practice the techniques. Again, don't push.

Gently encourage your loved one to attend social functions with you. Take them shopping, invite them to a party, or a small gathering. Do not be surprised if they decline the invitation. You can gently encourage them to attend, ensuring them that you will be there with them, and for them, but - again - don't push. If they do agree to attend, work out something with them in advance.

Have them tell you what happens to them when the fear begins. Learn to recognize the signs, or work out a signal with your loved one. When the fear begins, your job is to come to their rescue, and take them out of the situation - even if it is only a temporary removal to the restroom or outside. Make sure that you are available for the rescue. If you promise your loved one that you won't let them out of your sight at the social event, live up to that promise. Simply looking around, and seeing that you are not there can trigger the fear, and you will have a very hard time getting them to attend another social function with you.

While you must deal with your loved one's social anxiety gently, you cannot patronize them. If you do not have social anxiety, you really cannot ever fully understand what they are going through. You cannot fix their problem. They are not your 'project.' All you can do is lend support when it is needed, and otherwise, treat the person as you normally would. People who have social anxiety already worry that people are judging them - they don't need to feel as though their loved one's are judging them as well.

When does your belief become the truth

Ever wondered why some people turn anything they touch into gold; while other people fail even before they attempt something?

Most people would simply call it luck; perhaps saying, “you’re just lucky.” And if they weren’t pleased with the outcome, it’s a “bummer.” You might hear, “well, try another time and it may work out.”

What do these statements tell us? They carry hints into the beliefs behind our thoughts. Obviously, it is presumed that we have no control of the outcome; how else could you explain the word “luck?”

Have you ever heard rich people saying these things? Do you believe managers and CEO’s lead their companies by rolling the dice? They would probably be fired immediately if they were discovered to be relying upon luck.

In contrast, what are successful and wealthy people doing? If you look into it, you will find there is only one difference - their beliefs!

Believing that the outcome of what you are doing is dependent on luck will lead to exactly that result. Some things will manifest the way you wanted, and some won’t. In the end, you would have the proof that the results of what you do in your life are dependent upon dumb luck. As long as you believe this, it will stay that way.

Can a Simple Belief Create Such a Different Reality in Our Lives?

Yes, it can; and in a very profound way that could be described in modern science as the quantum effect. To understand this, let’s look into how a belief works.

What is a Belief?

What does the dictionary tell us about a belief?

1. something believed; an opinion or conviction: a belief that the earth is flat.

2. confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof: a statement unworthy of belief.

3. confidence; faith; trust: a child’s belief in his parents.

4. a religious tenet or tenets; religious creed or faith.

There are a few interesting words in these explanations that we will take a closer look at, in order to understand how beliefs work.

* opinion

* truth

* confidence

The description in #2 gives us a good hint. “confidence in the truth of existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof.” The word “assumption” comes close. Basically, we assume that something is true, before we have proof.

When Does Something Become the Truth and How Do We Get the Proof?

When you watch TV and you see the news, do you believe it? Here is the interesting part - each person believes it differently. Some believe it all, some believe a part of it, and some believe it only when it comes from the mouth of a “trustworthy” person.

How About The Proof?

How do you prove it is 12 o’ clock? You simply look at your watch. If you doubt it, you may look up at your computer, and if you doubt even that, you may call the phone service to get the time. But does this prove to you that it’s 12 o’ clock? Not at all, you are still believing it!

So it is with our beliefs; they become self-fulfilling prophecies. Take this even further: what happens to your brain when you make up a belief? You assume it is true, without having the proof.

Now we get to the quantum part of it. The moment you generate a belief, your consciousness creates new probabilities in your life. New probabilities lead to new realities. At this point, even if you are not conscious of it, you have opened a new door into a reality that contains the probabilities to manifesting exactly what you believe.

It is like sending out a new radio frequency; you just have to wait until it finds its resonator. The moment the resonator is found it will transform from a possibility into reality, which means your belief just manifested.

It’s worthwhile to take a look into the astounding findings made in the last 10 years of quantum physics. It is no longer a field of only “crazy” scientists. In fact, many agree that quantum physics is the ultimate key to understanding how ‘our’ consciousness works.

How Does This Relate to Dreams?

A dream is nothing more than a belief. Not bigger or greater than any other belief, just different. And to make a dream come true we ‘only’ have to believe in it. If we want a different outcome in our lives, we need to change our beliefs; we need to replace the old ones with new ones.

We need to remember that beliefs are self-fulfilling prophecies. Meaning that it was us who created that belief in the first place. You cannot change a belief if you do not claim ownership of it. In your life, you may have taken chances on someone else’s beliefs. However, you still decided at some point to make it yours. When you reach the point where you see that you have created a belief, it is very easy to change it. Just do it!

It’s a shame that we aren’t provided with a human operating manual. We are cast into the world with no clue whatsoever. Hopefully, this is changing, and soon we will be able to give our children a handbook on how to successfully master life. And most importantly, to guide and support them in manifesting their dearest dreams.

How to attract money with the law of attraction

Many people want to know how to get more money. You may have seen the movie "The Secret" and followed the guidelines, but still find yourself wanting more. Did you do something wrong? Are you just not smart enough to "get it"?

Not at all. You see, the movie "The Secret" was only a superficial introduction to the deeper things of the law of attraction. It's not just thinking positive, visualizing houses, cars and money, and then all of a sudden having it all fall out of the sky. Not at all.

The law of attraction goes deeper than your thoughts, your deepest wishes, and your intentions. It goes to that unconscious level of you that you didn't know you had. You can catch a glimpse of this when you dream. We've all dreamt things that we would not ordinarily do in our every day life. That's the part that the Universe, God, Superconsciousness or whatever you want to call it responds to.

The key to manifesting more money in your life is to bring all of the different levels of YOU in harmony into one single focus. Now that is a little more complex then just saying affirmations or looking at pictures of fancy cars and houses.

It's about letting go of deep rooted thoughts such "the rich are getting richer", "money is the root of all evil", or that there is something noble or spiritual about being poor and struggling.

Now at first you may think that you don't believe any of that. Consciously, you may not, but deep down inside it may be a totally different story. That's where meditation comes into play, and constantly asking yourself how you feel. Here's a test to show you just how you feel about money.

Can you imagine manifesting an extra $25 by the end of next Friday without having done anything strenous or difficult to get it? How does that feel? Now imagine manifesting an extra $10,000 by the next of next Friday without having done anything strenuous or difficult to get it. Do you feel a difference there? That is called inner resistance.

You see most people have resistance to money. They don't know it unconsciously until it's brought to their attention. They associate one with the other. They think they have to work overtime to get extra money, or win the lottery, or struggle or steal to get that extra money. In truth, the possibilities are infinite, and they can happen where everyone involved can benefit.

This is a mindset that is not easily attained just by reading this article. It is a daily practice of questioning yourself. You also have to make friends with money. Money is an energy, much like you and I. Everything in this Universe is made up of energy. Intelligent energy. Therefore, having a healthy love of money, will attract it to you. That is the basis of the law of attraction. What you show love to, will want to come to you more and more. If you are broke and short on money, be sure to always keep a few coins or a few dollar bills in a sack and during the day count it and hold it. Become thankful for that money and send love to it. It may sound strange to you, since in most parts of the world we are taught that if you are not struggling and if you're wealthy, that you must be doing something wrong. That's insane. You were meant to live abundantly. You deserve whatever it is that you want, simply because you want it.

The healing presence of god s love

God's love as a healing presence in the world is growing stronger daily. Many people are not yet able to perceive this growing presence of light, because there also exists at this time a thick cloud of negative energy that is surrounding the Earth. This acts to obscure both the perception and the consciousness of people, and to create feelings of isolation and despair.

These feelings are not the spiritual reality of this time; they are produced by the presence of much negative energy in the atmosphere of the Earth which has not yet been transformed. There are some ways that you can attune your consciousness at this time, to be able to open your heart more fully to experience and receive more of God's healing presence and light.

As you reach out to God and open to divine love, you not only nourish yourself, but you will also support your fellow human beings on the Earth by holding a presence of light and love. This has a powerful effect on the world and on all those around you.

It has been said that God's love can heal all. This is a spiritual reality, which restores a soul to their original purity and divine essence. All that has been out of harmony with God's love is released and transformed. This healing process is happening not only for individuals but for humanity as a whole at this time.

There is a growing understanding among many people on the Earth that there is much change happening in the world, and that there is a need for people to come together to solve the problems of the world. This awareness is one of the first signs of an awakening humanity that will one day fully know and feel and experience the presence of God's love as a living reality.

God's love can be not only felt in your awareness, but also can now be felt tangibly in many sacred places on the Earth. God's love can also be felt radiating from the hearts and minds and bodies of many spiritual healers, lightworkers and teachers who are present on the Earth to assist humanity in this awakening process.

There are two ways that you can begin to feel and receive more of the healing presence of God's love in your life. One is to take a few minutes each day to quietly meditate, pray, spend time in nature, or simply sit and breathe. As you do this regularly, with the deep prayer and intention to open your awareness to receive more of God's love, your awareness and perception will open and you will begin to experience yourself in a new way.

The other way that you can begin to more fully experience God's love is to join with other souls in prayer, meditation, worship, or spiritual practice. There are many ways to experience God's love, and the form of the spiritual gathering is not important. What is important is that you choose a group, spiritual path or religious practice that you feel connected with, that uplifts, refreshes and restores you.

In any spiritual gathering, the participants must put aside their own personal concerns for a time and focus on God. When a group of people does this, the healing effect is profound, and benefits not only the participants but also the Earth itself and all beings that are nearby, experiencing the radiance of love and light that is generated from such a sacred gathering.

At this time on the Earth when there is much suffering, all that you do to bring greater love and light into the world is of benefit to humanity. Even the small, simple thoughts and actions that no one but God sees are significant, for all your thoughts and actions contribute to the magnificent web of life and consciousness of which you are a part.

In uplifting and transforming your own consciousness, you are participating in a much larger event which is the transformation and healing of all of humanity. We give thanks for your work, your love, your prayers and your faith.

5 steps to releasing emotional clutter

Be Clutter Free!

5 Steps to Releasing Emotional Clutter

If you imagine that life is a journey we are all on. Some of us have a destination in mind, we have a map and all the equipment and money that we need to get us there. Some of us have no idea where we are going and few resources but we are perfectly content with that, we just want to have an adventure and enjoy the journey.

On our travels we can encounter challenges that slow us down or change our course. Sometimes we let the challenges get us down, they make our journey less enjoyable and sometimes the obstacles stop us altogether, we feel stuck, unable to continue on the journey at all. This is what emotional clutter does to us.

This article is about how we can deal with those challenges and obstacles.

Step One: Identify Your Emotional Clutter

Start a list of your gripes, moans, fears, anxieties, complaints anger, anything that springs to mind. Allow as much time as needed on this and keep adding during the week as other things crop up.

The most important thing to remember here is that the purpose of the exercise is to identify not to immerse yourself in negative emotions, to unearth what’s there so that we can shine a light onto it. So don’t dwell on the negative feelings. If you do get emotional or bogged down, take a breather, go for a walk, a sleep, read, watch tv and come back to the list later on.

It’s important to be honest even if you feel a little uncomfortable. When I did my list there were some feelings that I felt very guilty about.

Step 2: How Would You Like to Feel?

Now comes the juicy bit – the bit that starts to unstuck the vile sludge of negativity. Take each one of your moans in turn and write exactly how you would like it to be and why. Get into the feeling place. Even if the things are in the past or you feel you can’t do anything about them, it doesn’t matter, just identify how you would have liked things to have been. How you would like things to be now. Keep all your language positive, about what you want, not what you don’t want.

It’s important again to be very honest. What do you really want? It does not matter if it seems to be in the realm of fantasy.

This is your Well, What Do I Want? list. Treasure it. You will be adding to it and using it to build more positivity.

You have taken your first steps on your new journey.

Step 3: What ‘Could’ You Do Now?

Go back to your Well, What Do I Want? list. Take each item in turn and ask yourself this question:

In order to fully release my negative feelings and embrace the positive intention that’s here, what could I do next?

It’s important to understand that it doesn’t mean that you ‘have’ to do something it just means that you ‘could’ do it. It’s about opening the possibilities up. About opening the door and shinning the torch in. There is no pressure here, no list of ‘must do’s’

Some of the things that come up will be practical, others emotional. Here are some examples from my list:

•forgive him

•forgive myself

•get a gardener

•enjoy the chocolate

•write a letter

•ask for some advice

All that you need to make sure is that all the possibilities are ones that would make you feel good or better in some way.

It very likely that by now you will have new impetus and resolve to take positive steps. You may have a strong desire to look forwards rather than back. Go with it and enjoy yourself!

Step 4: Time for Action?

Finding ways that we could declutter our emotions is liberating and makes us feel more positive. Taking positive actions is even more powerful.

Which item on your list could you do first?

Which item on your list could be the easiest to do?

Which item on your list could be the most powerful to do?

Take the steps you need to start making yourself feel better.

Step 5: Releasing Unconscious Emotions

This step encourages us to look at the next level of our emotions: the unconscious.

Are there areas where you feel very stuck and nothing seems to create a shift for you?

Becoming an Observer

By becoming the observer of your own feelings you will come to a greater understanding of yourself and be better able to let things go as negative emotions release their grip on you.

I first came across the notion of being an ‘observer’ in Thresholds of the Mind by Bill Harris. Bill calls it, Finding the Witness. The idea is that ….

“part of you observes what is happening even as it happens. When you observe in this way you feel as if you are standing outside yourself and observing how you’re feeling, what you are doing, and how you’re interacting with your environment.”

You learn incredible amounts about yourself by doing this and after a really short space of time you begin to have a greater understanding of your emotions. This gives you choice.

Become an observer. What do you learn?

Learning EFT

Another technique which can really help to clear unconscious blocks is EFT. This stands for Emotional Freedom Technique. This is free for everyone to learn and can be truly miraculous so check it out at: www. emo-free. com. What’s wonderful about this technique is how easy and completely emotionally painless it can be.

One Final Word

There are many professionals that are there to help you release emotional blocks and I would strongly advise that you seek this help if you are struggling on your own.

Implication of the lunar eclipse - march 3 2007

We will have the first lunar eclipse of 2007 on March 3 at approximately 1120 GMT. This eclipse will not be visible in most of the United States. On the East Coast of the United States the penumbra will be visible. In this eclipse the sun will be in Aquarius and the moon in Leo. The sun (ego / Atman) is in place of self-doubt, leading to humility (Aquarius). The moon (Heart / emotions), is in place of self-confidence and projection (Leo). Yet both of these energies are eclipsed by the luminaries. We are being challenged to universalize our personal power, and orient our consistent actions toward a goal that is beneficial to all. Maintaining our self-esteem and a healthy emotional outlook while willingly subjugating our personal desires is being tested. This brings many possibilities in romantic relationships, because much of the time it is our selfish nature that eclipses our partner’s needs, and the relationship itself. In this eclipse, the ego is being eclipsed in the sign where we doubt our personal power, seeking humility. The nurturing and tender heart is being eclipsed in the sign where we generally assert our individual power.

Culturally, this eclipse is a foreshadowing of the next six months, where we will be tested to subjugate our personal needs for more progressive causes and humanistic ones. Perhaps we will finally decided not to eat animals simply because they taste good — perhaps we will decide that we can actually ride our bike or walk somewhere rather than waste gasoline. Perhaps we will become more efficient in recycling. Perhaps we will decide the only turn the water on when we need to wash off the toothbrush, rather than leave it running needlessly, mindlessly. Perhaps will turn the light off after we leave the room, etc.

Bringing complexity to this mix is a retrograde Mercury joined the sun. There are some real possibilities for communication mishaps that force these personal and social compromises. In fact, we may be seeing the effects of this placement already. Generally the entire month of an eclipse cycle begins a foreshadowing of the major themes. Notice the stock market “corrected” itself last week and most shocking of all, Brittany Spears finally checked into rehab. (Then checked out again, or at least that’s according to “People”, “Entertainment Tonight” had a different story — and yes does this mean K-Fed gets the kids now?) oh yes, perhaps we will stop paying attention to silly celebrities and there lives and start paying attention to our own life, spiritual progress and problems.

This eclipse is happening with two exulted planets, Mars and Venus which also foretells in importance on personal issues for the next six months — in particular, strengthening both our masculine and feminine natures. Having the courage to know what to fight for and when (Mars) and how to fight and why (Venus) will also be issues on the table.

Natural Disasters

This particular eclipse also has the ominous possibility of some natural disasters. As with all full moons especially, earthquakes and seismic activity increases around these times. Notice on the south Indian chart to the right, retrograde Saturn and Mars are both very close to the eclipse axis, right next to it. If you visualize the earth in the middle of this chart, you’ll see every planet except Jupiter and Venus are either joined the sun and moon or in the adjacent sign.

In this case there are three planets on one side of the earth and four planets on the other side of the earth. Each of them asserting their gravitational force in opposite directions. This gravitational force tends to open the tectonic plates in the earth’s crust, which leads to seismic activity.

This weekend we could see some major seismic activity: earthquakes, volcanoes, etc.

What if god could write you a blank check

I have read just about every possible book on creating a wealth and prosperity, yet having enough money always seemed to elude me. Even after I committed to living God’s vision in my life full-time, I was still living on the edge of financial disaster. I decided enough was enough and one night in my evening prayer, I asked The Lord to reveal to me what it was I was missing. I went to sleep knowing I was on the verge of a breakthrough.

The next morning, I was laying in bed reading (one of my favorite past times) and God let me know what was missing in my world. He reminded me that as a child of The Most High, He has given me dominion over the earth, yet I didn’t see money and relationships as part of that dominion. At that point I admitted I truly did believe that money and relationships had dominion over me.

This insight left my mouth hanging wide open! I had to admit that I did believe that money had control over me. My emotions. My social life. My business. My daughter and me. My home. Everything. I call these rough realizations “spiritual spankings” and God let me have it that day.

As I travel the country speaking, I am constantly baffled at how many of us do not do what God created us to do out of fear that it won’t pay the bills. It is easy to be faithful when the bills are paid, but can we believe beyond our circumstances? Can we believe God gives us dominion over money? Will we believe God will open up the windows of heaven and pour blessings upon us if we’d only listen to His urges that will lead us to financial prosperity beyond that which we can imagine? Your money flow will be blocked until you are fully on purpose and making the difference in the world you were born to make. How would your life change if you truly felt that living God’s vision is a blank check of joy, prosperity, and wealth?

Here’s a few things to work on in relation to vision and money:

1. Practice detaching your emotional state from your bank account balance. Your self-worth is not your net worth. Will you choose to be joy-filled and light even if your money is funny or circulating elsewhere?

2. Practice being sincerely happy for those that are receiving blessings. Especially the very blessings that resemble what it is you really want.

3. Boldly ask for what it is that you need. Stay in the mindset of expectation that God will handle not only all of your family’s needs, but their heart’s desires. God promises that He will provide our needs. God always comes through. The real issue is our level of faith and belief. How would your life change if you only believed?

Practice these three steps and you will be freed up around money—no matter what it looks like today—and well on your way to true wealth!

With All My Heart,

Environmental stresses and what they mean to you

With more emphasis being put on the state of our global environment these days, do you ever stop to assess your local environment? Your home, neighborhood, office, or your regular grocery store… Each one has it’s own “environment” made up of the air circulating throughout, the chemicals and materials that went into building and cleaning them, and even the people and energy the fill each area. All of these considerations go into making where we live and work a healthy or non-healthy environment. Often we spend so much time in these places that we overlook big issues that contribute to our health and well-being when we should be extra diligent in recognizing the harmful components and replacing them with better choices. Doing so qualifies as stress reduction when you really think about it. You are choosing to reduce the stress these things have on your body and mind.

One of the most powerful ways to reduce the stresses of your daily environment is called Quantum Biofeedback. When used along with a general awareness of the places you go each day and the things you expose yourself to, Quantum Biofeedback is a safe, easy way to balance the effects of your environment. Certain elements of your local environment may, to some extent, be out of your control like electrical fields and air pollution and some may have already taken a toll on you causing illnesses, aches, pains, or unexplainable issues. Why not take the steps now to not only reduce your exposure to these harmful stressors, but also clear your body of the effects of years and years of living side-by-side with them by having a Biofeedback session?

Quantum Biofeedback is a technologically advanced interface born out of traditional biofeedback that can administer therapy to reduce multiple kinds of stress, environmental being only one. Quantum Biofeedback uses a highly sophisticated device called the SCIO/EPFX to read the body’s physiological reaction at the subconscious level to the frequencies of over 9000 different items like natural remedies, organs, and environmental stresses. This safe, non-invasive process takes place at the office of a Certified Biofeedback Specialist. The client is “linked” to the SCIO/EPFX by way of a safe, comfortable headband and a chair pad that rests where the client is seated for the duration of the session. After the “testing” phase is over, the SCIO/EPFX returns the findings to the Specialist who then acts as an analyst and coach informing the client of their current stressors so that they can take steps to reduce them. Because the SCIO/EPFX is communicating with the subconscious mind, the effect of the therapy can be very deep and incredibly powerful. If you are ready to find out more about what a SCIO/EPFX can do for you, contact a Certified Biofeedback Specialist today for a Quantum Biofeedback session.

There s a new sheriff between your ears

Deputy Dawg Days!

I recently had a client that wanted to change her ‘self-esteem’. Since I have never seen a ‘self-esteem’ I had to figure out exactly what she was talking about before I could determine whether or not we could change ‘it’. Self-esteem falls into the category of metaphysical beasties that are actually a collection of actions that we try to abbreviate into a thing in order to make ‘it’ easier to talk about. My test of true ‘thingness’ is whether or not the alleged ‘thing’ can be sliced into my weekly pot of gumbo. I suspected her 'self-esteem' failed my gumbo test. After very few minutes of conversation I found that was indeed the case. Her ‘self-esteem’ was a conversational convenience, but therapeutically a major inconvenience. She had a bucket full of habitual thoughts that she would think about herself, most of which seemed uncomplimentary. By linguistically freezing that bucket of thinking (actions) into a frozen ice sculpture thing called ‘self-esteem’ she made a delightful table decoration that was very good at resisting change. Actions are almost always easier to change than things. In NLP lingo this process of de-animating a verb into a noun is called ‘nominalization’.

Once I convinced her to disregard the big scary ‘self-esteem’ monster, and start examining the specific thinking that contributed to how she felt about herself, she discovered a recurring pattern. She habitually talked herself into feeling bad about herself. Many of these internal voices that she heard weren’t even hers. Some were the voices (as well as content and tone) of her parents. Some of the voices she heard were past acquaintances. Even her children got to speak their piece on the soundstage between her ears. The result was an ongoing narrative attack of her relative worth. Her internal voices rarely, if ever, made her feel good.

There are a few basic points about these voices. First, she is not unique; we all seem to have them. Secondly, while we may recall the first time we heard the voice, we keep playing the voice over and over, whether in our own voice, or the original, like the proverbial, and now archaic, broken record. We do this, even though the historic incident prompting the initial iteration of the voice has long since passed. It’s like we’ve been deputized to continue making ourselves feel bad while the original speaker is off to do other things, lost interest, or even passed on. For all we know, the original speaker may even have changed their mind, and would not be caught dead saying the things we are still replaying.

Complicating matters somewhat is the often-observed fact that we rarely, if ever, question the accuracy of these internal voices and the thinking that they express. If they say it, we believe it, and allow ourselves to entertain feelings accordingly. This phenomenon can be problematic until we change the content and nature of that thinking, then it is cause for celebration. If the voices started singing your praises, reminding you of the great things you have done and will do, and you accepted those voiced thoughts as readily as you accepted the less flattering thinking, then the mythical ‘self-esteem’ wouldn’t be an issue.

The process we used to change the nature of the thoughts this client was busy thinking was to first change the tone of the voice talking. It is a little difficult to feel too bad when the internal voice berating you is in a squirrelly falsetto, like Alvin the Chipmunk. Then, to impact the significance of the voices even more, I asked her to add calliope circus music to the background. If you have a visual image that accompanies the critical voice, go ahead and paint clown faces on the speakers to go along with the whimsical tunes. While stopping the voices completely is difficult, changing their quality is relatively easy. Making these simple alterations in the voices helped free her from the unpleasant impact of the old voices. She was smiling.

We could have stopped there, and I suspect her bucket of thoughts would have been easier to entertain. Of course we didn’t stop. Since she already had this wonderful ready-made piece of internal audio equipment playing, we decided why not use it to play some great thoughts!

I had her recall some good things people had said to her in the past. I also had her make up some things that folks would have said had they known how incredible she really was. I did have to coach her a bit on this, but it’s amazing how your brain can start thinking these pleasant thoughts once the distraction of the belittling thoughts is reduced. The resulting good feelings are often sufficient motivation to keep those great thoughts coming. Of course, she may backslide from time to time, but now she knows she has editorial privileges, and can change the content, and the quality of those internally voiced thoughts any time she is ‘of a mind to’.

I re-deputized her as the sheriff in charge of making sure she felt good.

Be kind to yourself and others

Kindness is a generosity of spirit. It comes to life when we give of ourselves and our time to be of help to others, without expecting anything in return. When you show kindness to somebody you bring out the best in yourself, and a side-effect of brightening up somebody else’s day is to feel happier in the moment yourself.

Pay attention to the impact your behaviour has on others, and notice your own feelings in association to their reactions. And think about how you feel yourself when somebody else shows you kindness. What you give comes back to you in even greater quantity. When you are kind, you not only get an immediate payback in terms of a feel-good factor, you will also receive kindness from others, and in completely unexpected and unrelated ways.

It is so easy to find ways to be kind to others: say something supportive when you instinctively feel someone needs to hear it; offer help without being asked for it; smile encouragingly; swallow your criticisms; listen without judgement; let mistakes slide instead of assigning blame; make small sacrifices for the benefit of somebody in greater need.

A great rule of thumb I apply to my life is to do unto others as I’d have them do unto me, and, do unto myself as I’d do unto others. The latter part is just as important as the first. It is no good to be consistently kind to others and forget to be so to yourself. You will run out of steam, and feel less able to show kindness to others if you don’t replenish your own mind, body and spirit on a regular basis.

Being kind to yourself means getting your needs met, being gentle with yourself instead of critical when you feel you’re not performing at your best, forgiving yourself when the need arises instead of beating yourself up. When you get into the habit of treating yourself with kindness, it becomes much easier to extend that consideration and behaviour to others.

Age new spirituality - inspirational stories part 48

Just as every action that emanates from us comes back to us as reaction, even so our actions may act on other people and theirs on us. Perhaps all of you have observed it as a fact that when persons do evil actions, they become more and more evil, and when they begin to do good, they become stronger and stronger and learn to do good at all times.

This intensification of the influence of action cannot be explained on any other ground than that we can act and react upon each other. To take an illustration from physical science, when I am doing a certain action, my mind may be said to be in a certain state of vibration; all minds which are in similar circumstances will have the tendency to be affected by my mind. If there are different musical instruments tuned alike in one room, all of you may have noticed that when one is struck, the others have the tendency to vibrate so as to give the same note. So all minds that have the same tension, so to say, will be equally affected by the same thought.

Of course, this influence of thought on mind will vary according to distance and other causes, but the mind is always open to affection. Suppose I am doing an evil act, my mind is in a certain state of vibration, and all minds in the universe, which are in a similar state, have the possibility of being affected by the vibration of my mind. So, when I am doing a good action, my mind is in another state of vibration; and all minds similarly strung have the possibility of being affected by my mind; and this power of mind upon mind is more or less according as the force of the tension is greater or less.

Time management working to succeed

Time management is the process of working to succeed. When we are working to succeed, we are reaching our goals. Sometimes it is difficult when time are constantly changing and problems get in our way, so it is important to decide which plan works for you as well as understanding that life has its ups and downs. When we are planning to reach goals, we have sit down and really ponder on what is needed to reach this goal or set of goals. Some of us prefer to set short-term goals, reach that goal, and then go for a long-term goal. Most of us prefer to set short and long-term goals in the same time management scheme in an effort to reach both goals accordingly. This is always wise, since you do not want to start over with another time management scheme once you reach your short-term goal. One of the best tools provided to me in time management or rather business planning, was role-playing. When we are setting goals for our self and searching for a solution to make the goal work, it often helps to play out the parts as you come to a decision. If you see this works, then it is obviously part of the solution required to reach your goals. However, if you see that there are issues, then you need to re-evaluate to find a solution that is more fitting. Time management is essential, since it demands the person (s) to plan, act on those plans, and stay focused on those goals with motivation in play. You must also keep reality in view, since if you neglect the realness of the world, you will not be prepared when things go wrong.

Disasters such as storms, computer failures, family illness, personal sickness, and so on can happen any time. There is no sense in believing that you are absent from reality. It is always wise to include elements of your time management scheme in accordance with disaster, by thinking critical on the different issues that may arise. For example, if you plan a solution ahead of a computer failure, you will have the tools to continue working while your issue is addressed. Time solution is more than just planning then, it is a solution for planning here, now, and then. When you begin your planning, you should start by analyzing now. Now is in the present and you can see the elements that are needed to achieve your goals? If you know you need a computer to start a business in the next five-years, you should begin setting up a budget for the computer in demand. It is always wise when setting up budgets to open savings or money market accounts that does not take money from you, rather increases your savings by offering a nice interest on your savings. This can help you to reach the goal sooner. Computers are relatively cheaper nowadays, so you will not have to put much focus on this area, unless you intend to purchase a mainframe coupled with another system. Mainframes are expensive pieces of equipment. Next, you can search to find out more information about what is needed to start up a new business. It depends on the type of business you are achieving to reach, but most require desks, computers, pens, paper, cabinets, chairs, and so on. Be sure you add these expenses to your budgeting account. You may also want to include other essentials for starting a business, such as insurance policies, health insurance, and disaster recovery coverage and so on. Open separate accounts for your current financial obligations so that your savings will accumulate and your savings will not be affected. Try to avoid purchasing something that is not needed throughout the course of your time management planning, since this can only delay your progress. If you intend to open a business in five or ten years, make sure you keep this in sight while you work to the main goal laid out in your time management scheme. Time management is working to succeed. If you want to succeed then you must work hard every day to meet your goals.

60 quality hypnosis scripts

What gives you faith in a product that you are purchasing? Is it about the presentation for you, or perhaps you prefer to have a recommendation so that you are assured of the quality by someone else? For me, a product has to be accessible and it has to do or provide the service that I require of it. I remember when my dad was boasting about a satellite navigation system which he had purchased on eBay for a very cheap price. He told me to get myself one, however when I looked up the product code he had given me, instead of being a satellite navigation system, it was in fact an eBook, with details of police auctions where you might potentially be able to buy a satellite navigation system.

Obviously, he had only scanned the product, and hadn’t taken in all of the relevant information (i. e. it wasn’t actually a satellite navigation system.) From the picture, it looked like what he was looking for, and from the description he skipped through, it sounded like what he was looking for, it also met his requirements in price - however, it wasn’t what he needed or wanted. He ended up wasting his money on something that had little or no value to him, when he truthfully could have used that money to put toward the product that he actually required.

When I first became a hypnotherapist, I wanted to find a website with good quality, cheap easily accessible hypnosis scripts. The good news is there were loads of websites listed in the search engines that claim to have hypnosis scripts on them. Most of them did, some of them didn’t. Some of them were simply links to other sites that might have scripts listed on them. One of the major most promising looking sites had loads of scripts listed on it, however I only needed one particular script and the deal there was that you had to sign up for monthly membership that would give access to all of their scripts. I had a problem with this because firstly I didn’t, as a new business want to increase my monthly outgoings unnecessarily for the sake of obtaining one hypnosis script that I required, secondly, I didn’t know who had written the scripts, if they were qualified hypnotherapists themselves or if they would be any good.

This was when I decided to start writing scripts of my own. As a qualified Hypnotherapist and NLP Master Practitioner, I knew how to design my scripts so that they would be the most appealing to the subconscious mind of the client. I wrote them to include many different known hypnotic and language patterns with lots of embedded commands of the things you actually want the patients to do, also with metaphors and suggestions with hidden meanings.

Before I know it, I had written over 60 quality scripts, and now I would like to share them with you. There is a vast range, and you only pay for what you want, unless that it, you want the lot - in which case, you pay for the lot in one payment and receive them all in one go in the form of an e-book. Or if you want to download them as audio MP3’s you also have that option too. So they look like what you want, they sound great and the price is more than reasonable.

Gratitude will improve a retiree s outlook on life

Thanksgiving week is a perfect time to think about gratitude and to be thankful for the people and the events that have made our lives what they are. But gratitude, practiced daily – all year through – will improve anyone’s outlook on life. When we stop dwelling upon things in our lives that are not perfect or things we’d like to be different, our entire outlook on life changes. Gratitude makes each day better.

There was a wonderful song in one of the great old holiday movies. The refrain included this line: “when I’m worried and cannot sleep, I count my blessings instead of sheep, and I fall asleep counting my blessings.” It is very easy to be grateful when everything is going well. Many of us find it very difficult to be grateful when we are facing challenges or struggles in life. But gratitude helps us see each day differently.

Because Thanksgiving encourages us to be grateful, this is an ideal time to start a habit of gratitude. Here are five areas of life in which we should all be able to find reasons for gratitude.

1.Family. Our families are probably the most important group of people in our lives. Our families may seem perfect, or they may seem far from perfect. But all of us are the individuals we have become, at least in part, because of the influence of our families. If you think about it, you will be able to find something about your family – even being taught a difficult lesson – that inspires some measure of gratitude.

2.Friends. Our friends bring us joy. Friends also challenge us to be the very best we can be. One of the most wonderful things about friendship is that our friends choose to be part of our lives. Think about your friends and the richness they bring to your life. You are sure to find a few reasons to be grateful.

3.Opportunities. Life brings us many opportunities. Most of us are quick to act on opportunities and make the most of them. But it is very easy to become so wrapped up in the activity that we forget to stop and be grateful for the opportunities that have come our way and that continue to come our way. Think about your opportunities.

4.Challenges. Life also brings each of us challenges. Whether we overcome challenges, cope with challenges, or find ourselves defeated by challenges, our lives and our personalities are shaped by them. Gratitude for the challenges of life is difficult. It is easier, however, if we begin with challenges of time past. Think about those events and what you learned from them or how you grew as a result of them. Then, after a little practice, try to find gratitude for the challenges of the moment and try to think about what you will learn from them. The dark cloud might have a silver lining if you look for it.

5.Life. Daily life can and should fill us with wonder and gratitude if we can learn to open ourselves to it. When we stop to think and pay attention to the world around us and to the people we encounter, there are many things to be thankful for in each new day. Try living one day with your eyes and ears – and your heart – open to the world around you. I can almost guarantee you will find sources of gratitude.

I hope this Thanksgiving season will be the beginning of a new life in gratitude for every retiree. It is easy to get bogged down in the things that are not perfect. But cultivating gratitude for each day and for the events and the surroundings of each day can help us become happy just the way we are.

Employee motivation key to company success

Picture this: You're the owner of a seat manufacturing company that produces seating for wheelchairs, auditoriums, and cars. You have approximately 100 employees, 90 percent of which are upholsters, sewers, gluers, and material cutters. The other 10 percent are office staff. Basically, you have a diverse group of employees, each with different jobs, concerns, and needs. The big question is: How do you motivate all of these people?

Treat your employees well and your company will succeed:

If you are a smart business owner, you will realize that employee motivation at the workplace is essential to a company's success. If your employees don't respect their bosses, their jobs, and their company, then your business will not thrive.

Your employees must WANT to work at your company. They must have pride in their jobs, as well as the product that they are making. This about it this way: If your employees truly believe in what they are doing, they are most likely going to output a high-quality product in as quickly a manner as possible. In the end, your customers will benefit from this. Your company will benefit from this. And your employees will the benefit from this. Success is truly a chain reaction that begins and ends with employee motivation.

Put yourself in the shoes of your employees:

So how do you get your diverse mix of employees motivated? Why would anyone want to wake up at 7 AM five days a week to sew material to make seats for wheelchairs?

Would you get up to do this if, hanging above your department, you saw photos of the disabled people using the seats you stitched? Would you get up to do this if you were able to voice your ideas for new seats to your boss and to the whole company in weekly meetings? Would you get up to do this if you were given pay incentives or other types of rewards for the number or quality grade of seats you got done in a month?

If you answered yes to even one of these questions, then you would be considered a motivated employee. At least one of these things would have challenged you and would have given you reason to come in to work.

Think about some key points that enhance employee motivation:

-Every employee wants to feel appreciated in some way.

-Every employee wants to be given some sort of proof that what he or she did bettered the world, the community, or just the company in some sort of way.

-Every employee wants to feel that his or her opinion is at least heard - whether or not it is actually used. Having the opportunity to voice an opinion and bring new ideas to the table is a positive thing for both an employee and a company.

-Every employee wants to be rewarded for a job well done. It is understandable that large raises and elaborate prizes cannot always be available. But sometimes a simple acknowledgement from an owner or a boss can mean a great deal.

As a business owner, or as a boss, understand that one wants to work hard only to end up feeling unappreciated in the end. In a corporate world where money and power appear to mean success, it is key to remember that without good employee motivation at the basic level nothing else would be possible.

Learning german and pronouncing the words

Learning a foreign language takes time. It is something that no person can accomplish in a day. And even so, when a second language is being practiced for some time now, let’s say years, the speaker may still stumble in his grammar, vocabulary and other small details. This is the fact with learning another language other than a person’s mother tongue.

Most likely, people who have adopted a second language for learning on their own or through a course would still meet problems which will not surface until later experiences require it. But as a person’s learning capability progresses on, so is his ability to speak the language even more properly. The German language may have many words that are similar with the words of the English language but it does not entirely mean that it means the same thing.

The pronunciation is the key in using the German language. Nobody expects you to be perfect at first try but of course there is always room for improvement if you just let yourself have it. Notice how the letters have their own distinguishing sound in the German vocabulary regardless you are referring to the letter W in English while pronouncing a German word.

One must realize that the German language has extended pronunciation patterns on some of its consonants and on most of its vowels. There are both short and long proper pronunciation patterns on it’s a’s, e’s, o’s and u’s. Aside from this, there are words in German which require Umlauts. These are the letters which has symbols right on top of it.

Though many people focuses on the grammar points in learning a language, the proper way of pronouncing the words of a language also counts. This way, an evident and clear understanding between you and the listener wouldn’t be so difficult to achieve. Learn what you can at first, this of course includes the proper way of constructing the words in sentences. When you are full with what you can, speak it, let it flow out of your mouth and be open to corrections that are bound to be made by listeners and natural German speakers nearby.

Why meditate the amazing benefits of meditation

The modern world comes with an incredible range of possibilities, challenges and, let’s not forget, with a wide selection of responsibilities. Are we ready to face them all, to deal with them all? The fact is that this modern world is overwhelming and therefore, we tend to get tired, weak and stressed. But is there a solution to all these effects of the modern world?

Undoubtedly, meditation is the one that can reduce best all these aspects of a busy, dynamic and active lifestyle, a lifestyle that implies, besides all the successes and satisfactions, an additional package of worries and, of course, stress.

Creating a Compensatory World with the Help of Meditation

So, we started from the fact that nowadays, the world is busy, overwhelming and, in addition, very, very fast. We are all running, we are all trying to keep up with life’s dynamic rhythm. So, how can meditation help? Simply. Meditation comes as a simple and efficient salvation that allows us to detach from the fast and demanding real world.

Let’s think that meditation somehow creates a compensatory world, an imaginary world that is created by us and it is created the way we like it. Our meditation world can be anything, from a vision, a fantasy, a trip to a place we love – or, why not, a trip to home, an introspection into our souls and minds, an analysis of a concept and whatever else it might bring us peace. How many often do we get the chance to do all these things in our real life? Not enough – and this is precisely why we need meditation. Analyzed from this perspective, meditation implies developing a better spiritual and intellectual life, it implies imagining, visualizing, creating - but creativity and imagination are not the only advantages or benefits of meditation.

A Better Psychological and Physical Life

The modern world affects us at a psychological level. How? We tend to develop anxiety, frustration, complexes and, even worse, depression. And the good news is that meditation can fight against all these. Besides, meditation helps is lose our increased irritability, gain emotional stability, a good mood and a general peace of mind. More understanding and tolerance towards the world are other psychological benefits of meditation that can help us develop a healthier and more positive relationship with the others.

The physical or health-related benefits of meditation can not be neglected either. In fact, most individuals find them the most relevant ones. But what health problems can be improved by meditating? The scientific and experimental facts show that meditation has a great role in accelerating the metabolism, improving the skin and its resistance, dropping the cholesterol and cortisol, decreasing high blood pressure, decreasing the aging process and improving the breathing problems, as a result of the breathing exercises. In general, meditating implies, above all these, the desire for a healthier lifestyle, a lifestyle that can only affect our health in a positive way.

As shown above, the benefits of meditation do not simply reflect at a single level – meditation is a process that affects us entirely and that presents gains at multiple levels: the psychological level, the spiritual level, the health/body level and the intellectual level.

Overcoming all types of jealousy

Time has flown by so fast and many things have changed. Lives of people have become so fast-paced that somehow things like love and happiness have taken a backseat to career, business or money. Communications are centered not on how to foster relationships but on how to make the money tree grow.

Because of this, quite a lot of things have been taken for granted and people are slowly shying away from emotions that are the core of living. As a result, many feelings are harbored inside and these include regret, resentment and even the lurking green-eyed monster, jealousy.

This purely negative feeling that is known as jealousy is not only limited to your insane urge to grab at the hair of the woman your husband or boyfriend has been seeing behind your back. Jealousy could also be applied to the feelings of resentment that you have over the promotion of your colleague or your husband. It is also your inability to express your anger over why your husband treats your kid with more respect than he does you.

For those who are under the spell of this green-eyed monster, jealousy is a feeling that devastates them to the core and even results in them feeling great extent of anguish and pain. However, jealousy will not only affect the people who feel it, but also the people who surround them. Even if they try their hardest to hide their jealousy, it will always come out by the way they treat the people around them and how they will just allow it to ruin lives and relationships.

The basic approach to overcoming jealousy is knowing the reason behind it and understanding why it is happening. Usually, jealousy boils down to low self-esteem, insecurities and even huge love for a partner. While it is really great to love your partner so much, remember that anything that borders on the extreme is also bad and could just lead to hurt and devastation. Low self-esteem and insecurities are also two components of jealousy that should be gotten rid of.

If you are really intent on seeking help for your jealous tendencies, then maybe you could ask a hypnotherapist to treat you. Through hypnosis, your therapist will be able to go beyond the barriers that are keeping you from thinking positive thoughts. He will be able to delve into the negative blocks that are lodged in your subconscious and ease them out until you will be free of them. Once this happens, you are already able to overcome the lowness of your self-esteem as well as break away from your insecurities.

Then, all your jealous feelings will just fly out the window. Once the green-eyed monster is gone, you will finally be able to foster a relationship that is based on confidence and trust and be free from the anguish of always doubting.

Anxiety symptoms what anxiety is and what its symptoms are

First of all, before we start to describe what the symptoms of anxiety are, let’s first establish what anxiety is and its purpose. Anxiety is a survival mechanism. It exists to remove any perceived danger from our environment by either fighting it or running away from it.

A few thousand years ago, when man was a hunter-gatherer searching for food in the great outdoors, anxiety played a very important role in preventing our ancestor from becoming some animal’s next meal. If and when confronted by some ferocious beast, anxiety would come into play and give our great, great, great etc. grandparent the wherewithal to either stand and fight the threat or to run away to some safe haven.

In order for this fight or flight mechanism to be effective, certain physiological and psychological changes are temporarily made. These are as follows:

1. Body hair stands on end to give an overall appearance of being bigger.

2. Sweating starts to occur in the hands and feet to enable a better grip whilst running and/or climbing.

3. Adrenalin is released into the bloodstream to give an all-important boost of energy.

4. The body’s normal functions of digestion and cell repair are put on hold and the resources are re-directed to the muscles to enhance strength.

5. Under extreme conditions, the body will excrete in order to reduce weight.

6. Normal breathing is replaced by much shallower breathing and the heart rate increases.

7. Both sight and hearing are heightened.

8. Psychologically, there will be a feeling of discomfort and agitation. This will increase as necessary in order to initialise some sort of action.

So, looking at the above example of our stone-age hunter, we can clearly see that anxiety was indeed a very necessary part of their day-to-day life and no doubt it was instrumental in saving quite a few lives at that stage in our evolution.

But, how on earth can such a mechanism be useful to us in our current society? In certain situations, such as when the job that you’re working on is quickly running out of time, anxiety will help you to focus better by increasing your sight and hearing perceptions and the adrenalin will give you more energy to complete the task. I seriously doubt, though, that such a low level of anxiety would cause involuntary excretion.

However, there are other situations where anxiety rears its head and it isn’t appropriate. Imagine that you’re late for work and that you’re stuck in traffic. No matter how anxious you feel the traffic won’t flow any quicker and as for running away from or fighting the perceived threat that would be impossible.

It’s situations similar to the latter that can bring about anxiety disorders in certain individuals. I know, I used to suffer from an anxiety disorder along with panic disorder and agoraphobia for many years. Until, after many years of searching, I found the cure.

Skincare tips to slow down aging

An appropriate and effective skin care routine can be the answer to the bogging problem regarding formation of wrinkles and spots due to aging. As always, good skin care regimen, healthy lifestyle and a good well balanced diet would be ample in making the skin look more vibrant and much more beautiful. While it is a fact that there is no means to prevent aging, proper care could help slow the natural process down and make it a graceful occurrence.

Skin aging is a natural effect of the skin cells’ wear and tear processes. Being reminded that there is definitely no existing skin care product in the market that could prevent skin aging so beware when some manufacturers claim that their products do so. However, several goods will surely help in skin repair.

Understanding the natural process of skin aging set a good start. There are two different types of skin aging. Intrinsic aging is internal and is caused by the genes that are inherited from parents. The process can also be extrinsic or external that may have been caused by factors in the environment like exposure to air and water pollution, to the harmful sunrays and to chemicals from skin care products and medications. It would be helpful if you would take time to fully understand the concepts so that you will be able to determine the reason behind your rapid skin aging.

Wearing and tearing of the skin that may result to evident skin aging can be helped by observing the following simple guidelines:

- Consume more alkaline food. It would be advisable if you would include in your diet alkalinizing food like onions, lemon, garlic, olive oil, whole grains, nuts, dark-green vegetable leaves and seeds. To back the effort, reduce consumption of acidic foods like dairy products, meat, refined carbohydrates and sugar.

- It would help if you would have calcium-mineral and pro-biotic supplements.

- Hydrate the skin more by taking in ample amount of fresh water. Between six and eight glasses of clean water each day is the ideal ratio of water intake. By doing so, you are helping your body flush out toxic substances from the body and help prevent skin aging effectively.

- Having regular and tedious exercise routine would help prompt the capillaries to function more effectively, in turn, bringing more oxygen to the skin. The sweating also helps bring out natural and accumulated body toxins.

- Taking a more stress free and cheerful lifestyle would help. As you all know, many experts have already warned that stress from many sources result to dry skin that rapidly ages. In relieving body stress, the body would be made to function better and you always be in the good mood to do other skin care regimen to slow skin aging.

Above all, observing proper skin hygiene is a complementary skin care measure. By keeping the skin healthy and clean, you are contributing to making your skin free from harmful radicals that in time may accumulate to affect the quality of the skin surface.

Power within self confidence through hypnosis

Ever wonder why some people do not find it hard to feel confident? If you must know, confidence is basically a state of mind. Before you feel confident, you think about being confident. Surprisingly, you can easily learn about being confident. For starters, you should stop trying to become someone you are not. To be confident, you must be comfortable with who you are and accept your limitations. By doing this, you can act naturally and you will not have to worry about pretending.

Being confident is a lot of hard work. No one is born with it and it takes a serious amount of commitment and dedication to become confident. Being confident can improve your work ad personal life. You will be able to make presentations to large groups of people and speak with important clients. On the other hand, it would require a certain level of confidence to introduce yourself to a stranger or ask someone on a date.

Another important factor in confidence is determining your strengths, skills and talents. If you know these, you can trust yourself to accomplish your tasks properly. Funnily enough, there are people who have all the skills in the world but fail to use them because they are overcome by anxiety or nervousness.

If you are one of these people who have problems with confidence, the first thing you should do is to learn to manage this anxiety. You can try a few self-help techniques such as deep breathings, stretching or meditating. These would slower your heartbeat and help you focus on more important things. Meditation is an effective way to relax your mind as well as your body, ridding yourself of negative thoughts and feelings.

If these are not effective, then you might have a more serious problem that would require professional help. Psychotherapy can help build your confidence by determining and managing the reasons for your anxiety and fear. You could be suffering from low self-esteem because of things that you have experienced before. It is also possible that your anxiety comes from expecting too much from yourself. Whatever the reasons are, psychotherapy can help.

Another fast and effective way to treat anxiety is through hypnotherapy. It usually involves being hypnotized and the hypnotist will alter your behavior by making suggestions to your subconscious. It is believed that the subconscious is more receptive to changes than your conscious mind.

How to create irresistible curiosity with rapport hooks using hypnosis

As you know by now rapport is a key skill that you will need to master to be a successful hypnotist. Without rapport your subject will not be open to your hypnotic suggestions and communications.

A brief review of rapport is the harmonious relationship that you share with people. In this relationship you understand and relate to people’s feelings, ideas as well as communicate them well with one another. Everyone does this everyday with the different relationships they share with family, friends and co-workers.

In order to build a strong and wide rapport you will need to practice and perfect certain skills. Rapport in normal circumstances can often come easily. Think of how easily you share your life with a spouse or your best friend. The rapport here is focused and good, it comes easily and casually.

However hypnosis is not a normal or casual relationship. A deep amount of comfort, trust and familiarity must be established before you can reach your goals with a hypnotic subject. Remember they are going to let you into their mind this is not a place you open to just a perfect stranger.

As you are learning hypnosis you will want to focus on advanced strategies for building rapport. Creating and building on ‘rapport hooks’ is a great skill that will get other people to build rapport with you. Rapport hooks are going to do the work of drawing your subject into you as you get acquainted.

Rapport hooks are developed in a way that will keep people coming back to you to build on the relationship. It causes people to work hard and value the relationships they are building. If a person feels that they are working hard to build something they will also continue to work to maintain the past success they have had.

When you put rapport hooks into action, they will keep the person coming back for more information. The hooks will get your subject to keep asking questions, and coming back to fill in the informational gaps in you are purposefully leaving in your stories.

One way to get a person to keep coming back for that information is to give them small pieces of information that may not be complete. Leave questions in their mind as you tell stories. Give a casual tone, but leave what, why and how open for your subject to dig with.

The key here is to avoid forcing information on to them. Get your subject interested but leave your topics open by adding suspense and unfinished information.

For example, if you are telling a story about a place you visited, use the name of the country but give no specifics about where you went. Tell them the scenery is beautiful but let them ask about the region or sites you saw. Let them probe for these answers. You can do this with almost any topic.

While you are talking remember to use a casual tone and present the information in a way that inclines them to ask for more. If your subject’s curiosity is peaked they will be inclined to want to know more to the point of asking you.

In this manner you are elegantly giving them a good story and drawing them in as well. The more curiosity and interest the person has the more questions they will ask. Asking you questions is subconsciously earning them the right to the information and they begin to feel it is more important.

When you use rapport hooks it will also help you with fractionate rapport. Fractionate rapport happens when you giving rapport then consciously taking it away.

Give your subject your full attention for a while, then, distract yourself. Getting casually distracted by looking around or engaging your attention elsewhere will cause the subject to re-engage you. If the person does re-engage you then you are on board with the beginnings of a foundation for an advanced rapport.

Again this is causing the person to work for your attention. You give it, and then take your attention away. They then have to work to get it back. This makes the relationship more valued yet again because it is not being forced upon them. They are asking for it and earning it.

When using these advanced rapport building skills you will successfully push your rapport further, faster than normal. The more push and pull you involve in your conversations the quicker and deeper your rapport will go.

These skills will take your relationship to higher levels of comfort and trust quickly so a good and wide enough rapport is set to continue. Once this is founded and put into place you will be able to begin to put your subject into trance and begin the real work of hypnosis.

Coaching recognizing the tipping point

Malcolm Gladwell has a long history as a news reporter, but in his book, “The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference” Gladwell helps readers understand something most of us have only felt was true – life has a tipping point.

In virtually every aspect of our lives there is a point when something either very good or very bad happens. The choices we make will ultimately lead us to that tipping point. A long series of bad choices will lead to a tipping point that can cause long-term problems for us and, potentially, for others. On the other hand good choices or even a series of positive, yet unexplained events can be a tipping point that will lead us to a point of one or more successes.

There’s a lot to be said for active marketing, but sometimes we must anticipate and identify a tipping point to help us determine if we will actually make it in our business pursuits. Marketing can certainly help move your business to a tipping point, but the truth is many people with really good ideas don’t recognize them as such until they pass beyond an invisible, yet highly identifiable (in retrospect) tipping point.

This whole notion that there is an almost imperceptible movement that results in the tipping of the scales is reason enough to believe in the financial success of your online company. You need to conduct research and set aside funds to give you a positive start. Consistently market your idea and watch for indicators of a tipping point. It will happen and you will need to recognize when to stop moving forward and when your business is moving beyond the startup phase to something more established – or even trendy.

The truth is a positive tipping point can be made possible be a relatively small number of people. A small, but motivated contingent of satisfied customers can do much more for your proverbial tipping point that a larger number of passive consumers. Passion isn’t just something that is an asset in business; it is also an asset in satisfied customers.

There are many online businesses that simply exist on the hope that something good might happen today, but the owners often are afraid to admit they don’t actually believe the hope they cling to. The ones who understand the idea of the tipping point also understand that they need to consistently look for opportunities to direct people to their product. These individuals further recognize there are very few insignificant opportunities. The very thing that may seem insignificant to you at this moment may well be the very thing that provides a significant boost to your business. Be careful when turning down opportunities.

It can be hard when you are busy doing the business of business to recognize opportunity (it’s often disguised as something else). While this is true it may also be incredibly difficult to recognize negative tipping points. In the end you may not be able to determine how it happened, but in virtually every aspect of life you will ultimately discover a tipping point.

Being open to our prospect s energy with the golden orb

On occasion, I like to bring up ideas, exercises and concepts that some would consider to be a little woo woo, esoteric, or downright crazy. When I do this, I simply ask for your indulgence and suggest that even if something is unusual, it has potential to work wonders and give value.

First a couple of questions: when you are dealing with another person--a client, a prospect, a child, a spouse, a romantic interest--how receptive are you to their energy? And how willing are you to imagine yourself becoming of one mind with that person?

I've suggested several other exercises over the months with articles on 'vibration' and surrounding ourselves with pink bubbles' and I'd like to revisit the idea of energy here.

Energy is all about the language of the unconscious mind and the interconnectedness of all life. This is an interconnectedness with each other and with the divine (whether that be God or Buddha or whomever you worship).

Recently on one of my private one-on-one coaching calls, a very insightful student/client of mine brought up this concept. It started me thinking about how this is exactly the kind of thing that enhances persuasion immeasurably. I realize there's a fine line of what will pull people in and what will repel them or scare them off. And I completely understand the hesitation. My request: push past this hesitation and receive this information in the spirit that I am giving it: This is a means to advance persuasion skills incredibly.

My student described a metaphorical vehicle which he uses in 'meditation'. It's a golden orb, an egg-like structure, which he imagines over his head as a source of divine energy. This golden orb flows down through him, to his heart and pours out into the individual with whom he is connecting.

When he described this, it struck me as a beautiful way of interacting and it presupposes an intention of doing the highest good, working with the greatest amount of integrity for the benefit and happiness of everyone involved.

All of this is the language of the unconscious. This is exactly the kind of thing that I think is perfect for what needs to be done.

There is an immense value in this sort of exercise for us as persuaders. You are not asking the other person to change or interfering with their will, but you are changing your response to what is going on. As a result, your prospect, friend, child, romantic interest, business associate, boss, employee. . . whomever, will most likely follow and you will find yourself having a greater capability with them.

In doing this, you have expanded the persuasion field, your frame around your self, giving you greater reach and a wider field of vision.

Keep this in mind at all times. . . so much of what persuasion is originates and emanates from us. It is controlled by us more so than most people would believe because most persuaders think that the control lies with the person we're persuading and it really is more within us than anything.

All of the exercises I've written about, from the unconscious hello, to surrounding ourselves with pink bubbles, to the way we set our intention, to the power of vibrations, to this golden orb. . . all of them point to the fact that persuasion is under our control. One more time: Persuasion is under our control.

Spirituality information - journey in the fields of forever part 2

Somewhere between New York and London at 39,000 feet above the earth, my heart was at peace while my exhausted body and mind took the opportunity to rest. I had just successfully completed a one-week, business trip, which had taken me from one coast of North America to the other, then over the Pacific to down under in Australia. Mission accomplished in a few days, it was back to the United States and then over the Atlantic to London.

Now I was returning home, filled with anticipation at soon being able to see my children again, of the thought of relaxing on the porch, of watching the birds and squirrels in the backyard and myriad other less demanding, winding-down activities. It will be good to be home again. Sooner or later, we all return home. The chorus of turbine engines exerted a hypnotic hum as we hurtled across space. Unlike most other recent flights, this one was a pleasure to be on board. It was relatively uncrowded. Less than fifty passengers occupied the belly of this big bird, which is usually accustomed to hosting more than six times that number.

It crossed my mind that airlines generally are not pleased with flights that are so empty. Yet, that was precisely what I wanted — empty seats to my left, empty seats in front of me and still more empty seats behind me. No crowds, no fuss, no bother, no one kicking the seat back, no incessantly chatty traveling seat-mates, just a quiet, peaceful flight back home. I adjusted the seat, leaned back a little farther and settled myself into a more comfortable position.

Somewhat, as if in a dream, my mind began to wander the hallways of time that took me through the hopes and dreams of yesteryear. I have always loved flying, though not as a pilot but as a passenger. And not in little insect - like planes but in giant birds of the sky like 747’s and 767’s. Personally speaking, awaiting departure at an airport was akin to a mystical experience. Planes, for me, meant travel and travel led to faraway places. Since my earliest childhood, my fascination with faraway places had never ceased and, perhaps, never will.

Teachers job stress reduction

Teachers, job stress reduction is important to your health. You know that. Your physical bodies, emotions, minds, and spirits are all involved in school work. Even on holiday, you may find yourself working, or at least thinking about your work.

Such dedication need not be negative. A teacher should, above all, be a person who wants to make a big difference in students' lives. The challenge is to make that difference without permitting stress to drive you out of teaching. The challenge is to practice good stress reduction techniques.

Understanding Stress Reduction

An understanding of stress reduction must begin with an understanding of stress. Stress is not that stack of un-graded papers. Stress is not the child who insists on asking endless questions, no matter how well you explain. Stress is not a matter of two teenagers leaping into the aisle to fight, while the rest of the class chants, "Fight, fight, fight." Stress is not the parent who calls repeatedly to complain that you are not doing what is best for her child. Stress is not even the principal inviting you to the office for a job review conference.

All of the above are stressors, not stress.

Stressor Defined

A stressor is a stimulus that causes stress. The illustrations above are of stressors. When Job broke that expensive science equipment, his action was a stressor. When Betty brought her father's spearfish for show-n-tell – and stabbed it into your right arm – that was a stressor. They were stimuli that caused stress. They themselves were not stress, but they stimulated stress.

Stress Defined

Stress is your RESPONSE to the above examples. "Good stress" or "bad stress" is produced dependent on your response. Which calls for job stress reduction?

On the one hand, you respond negatively in fight-or-flight mode. Adrenalin floods your body and muscles tense. Blood is shunted from extremities to core organs. All systems are "go" for fleeing or fighting the enemy.

On the other hand, you respond positively by becoming excited and challenged. Endorphins power happy determination to move ahead. You are flooded with a feeling of euphoria, ready to make the best of the stressor.

Stress, negative or positive, is your response to stressors.

We continue with a brief look at the two kinds of stress.

Eustress – Beneficial, Good Stress

Teachers, job stress reduction programs are unnecessary when the stress involved is eustress. Eustress is an appropriate, positive response to the stressors teachers meet. "Eu" means "good" in Greek. Picture joy and laughter. Eustress is pleasant, healing stress.

Eustress may appear to be an emotional, mental, spiritual, or physical overload, but it does not drain away power. It energizes you; helps you handle the overload. Teachers' job stress reduction programs should begin with a presentation of eustress and the benefits it offers.

Distress – Detrimental, Bad Stress

Most teachers' job stress reduction programs focus only on distress. Distress is an inappropriate, negative response to the stressors of a teacher's job. "Di" means "two" in Greek. Picture double trouble coming your way. Distress is often a disabling, crippling stress.

Distress, like eustress may appear to be an emotional, mental, spiritual, or physical overload. Unlike eustress, distress drains power for anything other than fight or flight. Distress tires you; freezes the brain, and makes it difficult to handle the overload. Teachers' job stress reduction programs should include a presentation of distress and the detrimental effects it carries.

Employ Stress Augmentation!

Paradoxically, teachers, job stress reduction can be as simple as job stress augmentation. You need to augment, or increase, eustress on the job.

Remembering that stress is nothing more than your response to the demands placed upon you, recognize that you have control over job stress. You may choose to respond positively or negatively; with eustress or with distress.

Look at the following two examples.

1. You face a huge stack of un-graded papers at the end of the day.

A distress response is to sigh, and take "flight" down the hall for another mug of stale coffee and some small talk. Eventually, you plod back to the classroom, "flight" still written clearly on every part of your body. You sit down forlornly, and gaze dejectedly at the clock. Your shoulders slump as you reach for the first paper. You wish for job stress reduction, unconsciously defining it as a magic wand that will make the papers go away. That does not happen, of course, and you begin to reap the detrimental effects of distress.

A eustress response is to smile, allot 2 hours to finish the work, and divide the stack into 8 stacks. Now you have bite-sized work piles. You set a goal of completing each stack in no more than 15 minutes – less if responsibly possible. Promising yourself a cup of coffee after the first hour, you tackle the first stack, eager to meet or beat you goal. Augmenting eustress, you enjoy job stress reduction and all of its healthy benefits.

2. Betty insists on asking endless questions, no matter how well you explain.

A distress response is to "fight" with Betty, stress reduction hopes shattered. You feel neck and shoulders muscles tighten. A frown yanks your mouth downward as you approach Betty's seat. Unconsciously, you clench your fist. You will not permit Betty to demand so much attention, and you make that very clear in sharp, "fighting" tones. Betty cowers into silence, and you begin to reap the detrimental effects of distress.

A eustress response is to smile quietly, and see Betty as one reason you decided on a teaching career. You want to teach Betty stress reduction along with proper listening techniques. You wait for a time when the rest of the class is occupied, and then go quietly to Betty's desk. Smiling, you take Betty's hand and lead her gently into a quiet, private part of the room. Relaxed and happy, you set a goal with Betty. You and she will work together to help her listen in such a way that she needs fewer questions. As she learns to control her response to the stressor of listening, she can win small rewards along the way. By the time Betty returns to her desk, you both are happy. Augmenting eustress, you enjoy job stress reduction again.

Tip: Teachers, job stress reduction is a choice. No elaborate stress reduction program is necessary if you have the backbone to commit to augmenting eustress and refusing to engage in distress.

Of course you have skills and talents you can use in retirement

I can't tell you how often I hear people who are contemplating retirement say, "but I don't know how to do anything except my job." Baloney! You have skills and you have talents. You might have buried them in the back yard, but they are still there. What is more, if you held a job or ran a household -- YOU HAVE SKILLS AND TALENTS.

Some people seem to think that the moment they retire, either they forget everything they know and everything they know how to do. Then when they they want to find a way to become involved in the community or a non-profit organization, they think they have nothing to offer. When they think about finding a part-time job, they think they have no skills or talents anyone will want. Many even think they can't discover new and meaningful ways to fill their time.

The challenge for many people is in understanding that all the skills and abilities and talents they learned and cultivated through the years are still important and applicable to new situations. It is really a simple matter of learning to value ourselves, our abilities, and think differently about how our talents can be used.

For example, if you ran a household with several children, you are probably an organizational wizard. You have time management skills, planning skills, counseling skills, communication skills, plus quite a number of other useful skills. You simply need to learn to think about the responsibilities, functions and tasks you performed day after day and break out individual skills. Once you have done that, you need to think about them in the abstract.

If you managed to get three children to afterschool activities in different parts of town at the same time and got them all back home again, you have planning and time management skills. Those skills are adaptable. You can use those skills to figure out other logistical and time management challenges. You might be an excellent delivery planner for a floral shop -- you can chart out a logical order for the deliveries to be made that will meet all the deadlines, save gas, and save time. You've been doing it for years! Now, if you want, you can do it for a little extra income.

Were you the person who ran all the fund raisers for school activities for the PTA for a number of years? Are you good at figuring out what needs to happen in what order to put together a successful school fundraising event? Did you break records in finding ways to raise money for band uniforms and travel? You have event planning skills and fund-raising skills. You would be very valuable to a non-profit organization or a community organization.

Do you love art, know a great deal about it, and love sharing that information? Why not volunteer as a tour guide for an art gallery or museum?

The possibilities before us in re-firement are limitless. We simply need to think more creatively about the skills and talents we possess and explore opportunities to use them in new and exciting ways.

If you are stuck breaking free of restricting thinking about your abilities and talents, call me. I'll help you rediscover your abilities and find exciting and fulfilling ways to transfer your skills and talents.

Student motivation inspiring the future

One of the most important aspects of a teacher's job is to motivate students. In order for a student to be motivated, he or she must possess a desire to learn and be willing to aim this desire toward achieving academic goals. For successful student motivation to occur, a student must want to participate in the learning process.

This is not a simple task for teachers to accomplish; but when done correctly, student motivation can have great results. A high school student who has little or no interest in attending college can be motivated enough to change his or her mind. It only takes one teacher, and sometimes the guidance of parents - but it certainly can be done.

There are several factors that have a direct effect upon student motivation. Among them are:

- Academic challenges

- Parental involvement in a student's academic life

- The building of a student's self-esteem

Let us take a more in-depth look at each one of these factors.

Academic challenges:

Praise, enthusiasm, positive feedback, rewards, and a positive environment are just a few ways a teacher can help stimulate student motivation. Praising a student for positive efforts he or she makes in the classroom encourages learning. Through praise, a student will understand that he or she is on the right path. More often than not, praise will make the student continue to do a good job.

Rewards also work well for student motivation. Students love getting a piece of candy from the teacher's candy jar, or even a day of no homework because of good classroom behavior. Student motivation can be achieved simply when the teacher puts a gold star on an A+ exam.

While praise and rewards promote high levels of student motivation, positive feedback from the teacher is also key. A teacher commending a student for a job well done or sending a letter to the student's parents expressing how well their child is doing in school can greatly motivate a student. By giving positive feedback, a teacher can let a student know that they are doing well and can also suggest how a student can improve on any weaknesses. Through feedback, a student will understand what the teacher expects.

Students also benefit when a teacher is motivated to teach. Teacher enthusiasm increases student motivation. When a teacher shows excitement about a subject, he or she can motivate students to learn.

Parental involvement:

Student motivation begins when the toddler is at home learning the basic functions of life, such as walking. When the toddler is just about to take his or her first step, the parent is providing support so that the child does not fall. Every time positive recognition is received, the child is motivated to achieve more goals. This is why it is vital for parents to show support and enthusiasm during these experiences.

Another helpful way to start a young child on the right path to learning is providing educational toys and books for the child. A parent can also view educational television shows with the child. A simple toy can help a child learn ABC's and 1, 2, 3's. This helps build future student motivation. Coloring books, magnetic letters, building blocks, and television shows like Sesame Street are all great motivational devices. A parent should encourage a child to ask questions about such games, books, and shows. Once a child is old enough to be a student, he or she will then understand that there is nothing wrong with asking the teacher for help. After a child becomes a student, responsibility lies with the parents to become involved in his or her academic life.

Student self-esteem:

Student self-esteem comes from within the student. It can fluctuate depending on daily experiences. Students who do not receive a grade they were hoping for can experience low self-esteem. However, when a student answers a question correctly in class and gets recognized for a job well done, his or her self-esteem will be raised. A student's self-esteem can also rise by participating in extracurricular activities. A student will feel accomplished when he or she is able to perform in a play, win a key club competition, or score a point for the basketball team.

Student motivation comes from within the student. However, there are many factors and people who can help the student remain motivated. With the will to learn and the enthusiasm of others, students will be inspired to do well in school.
