Traffic exchanges why you should steer clear

There are many very effective ways to advertise your business online and equally, there are some highly dubious methods too!

While I usually prefer to focus on positive subjects for my articles, the merry-go-round of the traffic exchange "industry" is something I feel I have a duty to warn you of. If you're new to marketing your business online then you've been doing some searches here and there, trying to find ways of "getting out there".

You've discovered that there's a million and one different websites making fantastic claims and promising the earth! Whilst most traffic exchanges don't claim to be able to make you a millionaire, they do claim to be able to send you untold numbers of "hot prospects". This is what I have a problem with - the quality of the traffic is almost always very poor.

No doubt you've discovered a few of these traffic exchanges yourself. Why don't they work?

The giveaway is in the name but first a little history will help you understand the context in which traffic exchanges have come to exist. Back in the primordial days of the internet, at least as long ago as 2001, the first traffic exchange was born. It was a beautiful concept and it worked very well. Users signed up and agreed to view or "surf" other members' pages. As the user surfed, so credits built up which were used to display the users site across the network.

Because this concept was new, it worked fantastically well. It was a great way to get traffic to your new site. Then, inevitably, the business model was copied. The traffic exchange "industry" was now upon us. There seemed to be a new exchange being released every week. Different exchanges had different surf/display ratios. All the same people joined all the same exchanges.

Let's jump right back into the present. With a little research, it won't take you long to find out that these days it's the search engines driving more than 80% of the traffic on the internet. The only people using traffic exchanges are new webmasters and people trying to find a free way of promoting their website.

Look at this user base for a minute.

No-one is interested in what you have to sell. All they care about (just like you) is getting traffic to their own website. People who still insist on using the exchanges have devised ways of surfing more than 15 exchanges simultaneously, never spending more than a second or two on one site. This all adds up to nobody really seeing your page and equates to a very poor return on your investment - that investment being time, your most precious commodity.

Traffic exchanges began when SEO was a term that had not even been coined. With the rise and rise of Google, the other engines playing catch-up and many smaller niche directories now appearing on the scene, the overriding focus in this day and age is search engine optimisation or SEO. When you see the awesome power of a top listing in Google, the traffic exchange "industry" becomes a complete farce.

Then the final nail in the coffin. The robots!

Since a traffic exchange relies on a piece of software to distribute the traffic around the network, there is always going to be the potential to design a piece of software that can cheat the system. These "bots" are available to buy if you look around.

Enough robots can effectively make a traffic exchange completely useless and they regularly do. No matter how much "cheat protection" the exchange owner implements, some savvy coder will always find a way around it. It's quite probable that the only winners in the traffic exchange game are the people running the robots - they get tons of free traffic! A clever exchange owner can also carve a living out it, if they try really hard.

So I have some very good reasons to warn you against using the traffic exchange and first hand experience of this industry too (I experimented with the exchanges for way too long). If you're new to this internet marketing thing then please take my advice - don't waste your time.

Concentrate on search engine optimisation. Concentrate on giving something of value away for nothing if you can. This has the effect of getting other people to link to your site since you are providing a resource. Links into your site raise your popularity. In my book I show you some great software programs available which will help you build a web property that is really worth something. That's where the fun begins.

In my opinion you must forget about traffic exchanges. Stop click - click - clicking and start - link - link - linking.

To your success!

Riley.

When one site features another sites link, they could provide one another with the traffic one site generates. The efforts are doubly beneficial because it would seem like both of you are working to generate more traffic. The more links traded with more sites the more traffic could be expected.

3) Use Viral Marketing

Viral marketing allows you to spread the word about your company and product without any costs or if ever low costs only. This is a marketing method that can be quite sneaky; you can attach your company’s name, product or link to a certain media such as a funny video, entertaining game, an interesting article or a gossip or buzz. With this method, people get infected with the creativity and entertainment of the medium that they will pass it on to many people.

3 secrets to increasing traffic in the new year

Now that 2006 has arrived, it is the habit of many people to make a resolution for the New Year. While many people focus on self-improvement, some opt to make resolutions about their business. Usually this involves a resolution to increase their revenue for their online business.

But did you know that it is actually quite easy to increase your online revenue?

The trick is to drive more traffic to your Internet business(es). As you know by now, more traffic generally means more money.

No matter what type of site you have, your success hinges on getting as much traffic as possible. But like many online business owners, you have probably exhausted many sources for increasing traffic.

Recently I have found three incredible ways to drive more traffic to your site. The good news is that all these methods are not being done by many webmasters.

So if you want to increase traffic for 2006, be sure to use each of the following three traffic-building mechanisms:

1- Data Feeds

Do you like the idea of creating hundreds, even thousand of pages of legitimate content?

With a data feed, this is possible.

Many online businesses utilize data feeds as a way to help their affiliates. If you are not familiar with this concept, a data feed is file that contains a list of products, descriptions and prices for individual items that are sold by a company.

With a data feed, you can create a specific content page for each product. So if an affiliate program has thousands of products, then you can create thousands of pages of quality content. As you probably know, the more content usually leads to more traffic.

Data feeds are great for getting natural search engine traffic because they list specific products that people are looking

for. If you can find a data feed that is related to your specific website, then you can easily generate more natural traffic for your online business.

2- Viral eBooks

Another tool that can dramatically increase your website traffic is a viral ebook or report. Most of the time, a viral ebook is a PDF that people send to their contacts, which contains your marketing message. It is called viral because every person that receives the ebook is given a reason to pass along your material.

Before starting a viral marketing campaign, it is important to create a reason why people will want to pass along your marketing message. Some of the best reasons can include simple greed or a desire to provide entertaining information to their friends. If you can develop a hook that will take advantage of either of these, then it will be easy to create a successful viral marketing campaign.

What I usually do is create a special 5 to 10 page report on a specific topic. Then I find an affiliate program that is related to the topic. Then I create a mechanism where people can easily brand this ebook with their own affiliate link.

This type of viral ebook is valuable because you can place a mini advertisement or sponsorship on every copy. In addition,

you can let the reader know that he or she can make money by offering this viral ebook. As a result, there is a chance that every person that reads the book will click over to your site.

3-Blogs

By now, you have probably heard about the power of blogs. If you haven’t created one, then you should use the New Year to take advantage of this traffic pulling tool

With blogs, you are providing your audience with fresh new content about your topic. People love to read them, because most

blogs contain new information in an entertaining and easy-to-read format.

The best part about blogs is how much they are valued by search engines. The majority of search engines consider any information on a blog to be important current news, so they pay special attention to articles listed there. As a result, you can use blogs to drive a larger portion of traffic to your Internet business.

For 2006 you should make a resolution to get more traffic to your site. By implementing these three tools into your marketing mix, you will discover that your web traffic (and income) will dramatically increase.

You work hard for traffic get it to convert

Anyone can build an ecommerce site. Getting traffic is going to be the first hurdle, but doing so will only matter if you can convert it.

You Work Hard For Traffic – Get It To Convert

Getting your traffic to convert first requires that you understand a few parameters. To have a clue regarding how you are doing, you need to understand server statistics and conversion ratios.

I am continually amazed at the number of sites that do not look at their server statistics. Your server stats are incredibly important because they tell you how many people are coming to your site, where they are coming from, how they found you, how many are turning into customers and, if not, what pages they are leaving from. Without this information, you are just guessing at how well your convert traffic. Don’t!

Once you start looking at server stats, you need to determine your conversion ratio. The conversion ratio is the number of sales you get per visitor to the site. Importantly, it is not the number of sales per hit. A visitor may generate multiple hits, so just focus on visitor statistics. Some stats programs refer to visitors as “sessions.” Regardless, conversion ratios vary by product or service. Some may be as low as 1 in 25 visitors while others will be much higher. If you convert at anything over 1 in 500, the site probably needs some serious tweaks unless you are in an extremely competitive or general market.

Making your convert is all about providing a convenient solution for your prospects. You should review your site from this perspective. Is it easy to find and buy a product or do you have to click through four or five pages? Make it as simple as possible.

Advertising links can cause poor sales. Many people make the mistake of having their advertising link to their home page. If your advertising refers to a specific service or product on your site, the advertising should click through directly to that page. Never make your prospects hunt for what they are looking for on the site. Many of them will not do it.

As strange as it may sound, the load time of your site can kill your sales. Remember, 40 percent of Internet users are still on dial-up modems. While your site might load quickly when you look at it on your cable, T1 or DSL connection, how does it do on a 56k modem? Don’t guess. Go find one and try to load your site. If you have a lot of graphics, you are going to be in for a shock!

Even if your site loads quickly, most ecommerce sites have time glitches on the order page. This glitch occurs when the customer fills out the order information and clicks the processing button. Sites can grind to a halt as they convert to the secure credit card processing system. This is such a prevalent problem that a majority of ecommerce sites will lose up to 40 percent of their sales on the order page. Make sure your site loads quickly, particularly the order page.

Improving your conversion rates is all about understanding how your site performs. If you can focus on your subject and get the site to load quickly, you should see dramatic improvement.

The 3 most powerful forms of viral marketing that will put your opt-in list building efforts on... auto-pilot

EXTRA! EXTRA! Read all about it.

"The Money Is In The... LIST!"

I bet you've heard this catch phrase once or twice while surfing around on the Internet.

I know I have.

But, the question that usually arises is... "How do I effectively build one that won't cost me an arm and a leg in the process?"

Well, today's your lucky day because I'm going to highlight 3 of the MOST powerful ways to build your targeted 'Opt-In List' by using the Power of 'Viral Marketing' as your engine.

And the best part about using these 3 'Viral' methods I'm about to mention are... they cost virtually Nothing to produce, are Highly targeted, give You INSTANT Credibility and are in constant demand by website owners.

So, with that said, let's move on to what these 3 'Viral' methods are and how they will benefit you and your List Building efforts.

Method #1. Writing 'Special Reports'.

- Special Reports work great because they allow you to go into more depth about the Topic or Problem in question where you'll then be able to lead them to how your Product or Service(or Affiliate product) can fix there current problem.

- They give you Instant Credibility, which builds trust in your customer that you are knowlegdable in your industry.

- Website owners are always looking for quality **Free Stuff** to give away or offer to there Visitors and/or Subscribers.

This is where you could CASH-IN, especially if you make your special report 'Brandable'. This gives the website owner even MORE incentive to give your Freebie away if they can make Money in the process.

- And your Contact Information will always be inside, no matter what. Meaning, as your report is being passed around the Internet you'll always be able to lead your potential customer back to your website where they could sign-up for your newsletter and/or read up more about your Products or Services you offer.

Method #2. Putting Together A 'Free eBook'.

- Free eBooks work great as well and have the same benefits as I outlined through the special report.

The only difference using this approach is, you can put together a free ebook in less time then it would take to produce your special report simply because it doesn't even have to be your own material inside, it can be someone else's.

Just make sure you put together a free ebook with quality information inside.

- And they also allow you to target more then one Product or Service inside because free ebooks are usually a compilation of related articles targetting a particular problem leaving you room to diversify.

Method #3. Writing 'Articles'.

- Writing Articles is probably ONE of the Best and Most Effective Ways to produce a wave of Viral traffic to your website because every website owner needs FRESH content to feed to there visitors and/or subscribers.

- They also allow you to Target your audience's problem specifically that they're dealing with.

- And at the end of the article you have a spot called the 'Resource Box' to insert your personal Bio and/or Website information.

Just imagine if your article were to be picked up by some Newsletter Editor with a large list or High Traffic website and they use it as a 'Featured Article' in there publication, you could see an INSTANT Surge of targeted traffic to your website overnight.

That's where your 'Resource Box' comes in.(Take a look at how mine is formatted at the end of this article.)

Well, that about sums it up for the 3 MOST powerful 'Viral Marketing' methods being used today by most Internet marketers, and for good reason, because they work.

Now, with all that said, what do these 3 'Viral' methods all have in common that'll put your List Building efforts on 'Auto-Pilot'?

- They're in HIGH demand by website owners.

- They're HIGHLY Targeted.

- They give You INSTANT Credibility in your industry.

- They have YOUR Contact Details leading to Your website.

...and Most important of all, they're all FREE!

Just think for a minute, by using only ONE of these methods listed above, how it could put your Opt-In list building efforts on 'Auto-Pilot'.

This article represents just a summarized version of all the different List Building techniques available online, But, in my opinion, these 3 are the most effective.

Is there a difference between manual traffic exchange and auto surf traffic exchange

For those of you that do not know what a traffic exchange it, is it a site that you join, and agree to view other members websites to have them view yours. This can be a great form of advertising because a real person is at the other end of the computer viewing your website, where you will be promoting your product, or service. This sounds like a great, but how do you get traffic exchanges to work for you?

There are many websites that tells you to join hundreds of traffic exchanges, to get the joining bonus. Yes it sounds great, but big mistake! If you just joined to get the joining bonus that the traffic exchange offers you probably will never get it. Why? Many of the traffic exchanges require you to have surfed a required amount to get that bonus. So if you thought you were going to get away there. Your Wrong! The worse part is that if you joined to get the joining bonus, the traffic exchanges usually will not put your website into rotation until you have activated your account. So do not go out, and do that you will only be wasting your valuable time. Later on in the article I will tell you how you will be able to benefit from multiple traffic exchanges, and the proper way to do it.

There are two types of traffic exchanges that you can join. Manual Surf, and Auto Surf traffic exchanges.

Auto Surf is exactly what is says automatic. I know you might be thinking that this is a good thing. Wrong again. When you set up an automatic surf, you will be setting it, and going about your business. Think about it, if you wanted traffic to your website, and the other person on the other end of the computer is suppose to be viewing your website, how much people do you think will see your website using this method? Not many. Personally I stay away from automatic traffic exchanges, because they do me no good.

I am not giving them a bad label; it just does not benefit me. However, there are auto surfs out there that you can join, and they will pay you to use their service. It is not much but over a period of time, it will add up. Will they pay you? Now that is another article all by itself. What I recommend that you do if you are interested in using auto surfs is to do your research, and know what you are getting into.

Now we will talk about Manual Traffic Exchanges. A manual traffic exchange is when there are other people sitting behind the other end of the computer, clicking on a certain image to view the next website. There is a live person, to see your site, and not a couch potato, hanging out on the couch hoping that he will get rich off of auto surf traffic exchanges. If your site or offer is interesting enough to the viewer they will stop, and look at what you have to offer. That part is up to you.

If you are interested in promoting an affiliate program the traffic exchanges it is recommended that you do not just promote your affiliate page as it is. You probably will be able to get signups, but not that many. What is recommended is that you create splash pages or landing pages. A splash page is a one-page site that teases your viewers about your product or service. The best way to get more visitors to your site with splash pages is to list the benefits that your program or product has to offer, when doing this be careful that you are not listing the features. A benefit tells the customer how the product will be able to make their life easier. Everyone wants to make things easier.

With over 2,500 traffic exchange online, and new ones coming on everyday, it would be impossible to surf that many exchanges. That is why I recommend using Cyberwheelers Manual Traffic Exchange downline builder. It consist of over 40 manual surf traffic exchanges, that are put into sets that you can surf using Mozilla Firefox tabbed browser.

All of this is explained at Cyberwheelers. com

In my first three months of using manual traffic exchanges I was able to generate over 120,000 page views to my site, and over 72 signups. Not bad, for sitting if front of the computer for an hour each day, and clicking away.

May The Traffic Force Be With You!

Why article writing will really boost your website traffic

: If you are looking for a quick increase in traffic to your website, particularly if you have a new site, it is a relatively simple process to get some REALLY fast action. Even more important, is that you can get this traffic "completely Free!" Trying to get your website listed with the major Search Engines is often a long, complicated, and sometimes expensive task. One sure of increasing your presence on the web, is to write your own articles. What do I write about? Select a subject that you are familiar with, or one that relates to your website. If it is a subject that you are interested in, then it is normally quite easy to write about it. Keep your article to between 500- 600 words. You may have already written something similar, that you have included in your website. What do I do then? The next step is to submit your Article to Free Article Directories, like Add-Articles. Com, who will then publish your article on their websites. The more of these free sites that you submit to, then the more times your article is "initially" published. What happens next? Each time you submit your article; there are two very important sections. The first is the "Resource Section". This is where you add your details, as the Author of the Article. So you may put something like this: "John Smith, an established Crocodile expert, has been working at Australia Zoo for over 10 years, and has gained a wealth of experience about Crocodiles during this time. If you would like more information on Crocodiles then please visit his website at: www. johnsmith. com" The second is the "Keywords Section." Where you would enter say "Crocodile, Crocodiles, Australia Zoo, Animals etc.," which the search engines will later pick up. The "Resource Section" stays with your article every time it is published, as it is your article, you will always own the copyright. How does this bring me traffic? 1/. With your article, and website details, listed in the Article Directories. People interested in Crocodiles will read your article, and to learn more, will visit also your website. These Article Directories are getting enormous traffic from visitors that are searching for new articles of interest. 2/. These articles are then picked up by other website owners that are desperate for new content to add to their websites. They publish your article on their sites, leaving your site details in place, which brings you yet more visitors. 3/. Each time your article is published, you have another link back to your website. The whole process starts to snowball, and all from just one article. The final piece of the good news, in a win, win situation, is the major Search Engines. They are also very eager for new content to add. So once they pick up on your new article…… you suddenly have a very busy website with lots of the traffic, all of which, you got for Free!

Dot com not listed in regional yahoo don t despair

If you’re a non-American business with a. com web address, and your regional Yahoo ranking is important to you, then my story might interest you.

Recently my copywriting website dropped out of Yahoo’s Australian rankings. For quite a while, it had been at number 1 for my primary keywords “advertising copywriter”, “copywriter”, and “website copywriter”. But then it suddenly disappeared. I clicked through about 10 pages of results, and it was nowhere to be seen. I then searched for my domain, and Yahoo couldn’t find it.

Something smelt fishy.

I’d done nothing ‘naughty’ to my site to warrant a ban, and I still had heaps of links to my site (actually, I had more than ever before).

I’m an Australian advertising copywriter. I’m based just north of Sydney and I host my website with a major Australian host. But my web address is a. com, not a. au. I started thinking this might be the problem.

So I emailed Yahoo support, explaining the problem, and sharing my thoughts on the cause.

And all of a sudden, nothing happened.

So I waited. And I waited. And I waited. And finally, after about a couple of weeks, I received an email from a Yahoo support representative informing me – incorrectly – that my keyword wasn’t featured in my page title or description. I should remedy this shortcoming and re-submit my site to Yahoo.

Frustrated, I replied. I repeated the important facts from the first email just to ensure they’d listened. They hadn’t. They hadn’t even searched for my domain to confirm that Yahoo no longer recognised it.

When they got back to me this time, they had started paying a bit more attention. The support rep confirmed my suspicion that Yahoo had excluded my site because of its. com URL. Her very helpful solution was that I should change my domain to. au! She included some ridiculously complex instructions for how to do so, and sent me on my merry way.

As you might expect, I wasn’t satisfied. Nor was I merry. I explained to her that this was not an acceptable solution because all the links to my site on the internet are pointing to the. com and my email address uses the. com.

She was unmoved. She asserted that this was the best and only way to solve the problem. Oh… and it might help if I added my primary keyword to my title and description.

My laughter was not good humoured! I wrote back expressing my displeasure at this “solution”. I painstakingly explained how Yahoo had made a mistake, and that if Google was capable of recognising my Australian business despite its. com addresses, I would think it’s technically possible. I also cited several other. coms in the first couple of pages of Australian results.

No response.

The situation didn’t look promising…

If this sounds like a familiar story to you, don’t despair. A week or two later, I searched Yahoo Australia for my primary keyword, and surprise, surprise… My site was ranked number 1 again!

The moral to the story? Don’t be intimidated by Yahoo. Trust your instincts and don’t give up. If you’re an Australian business with a. com, and you’re not listed in Australian searches, this might be why. In fact, I would think this story is relevant to all regional Yahoos. (Of course, before making any accusations, it’s a good idea to make sure your site is properly optimised and that you have plenty of inbound links.)

Anyway, that’s my story. I hope it helps someone.

And they all lived happily ever after. So far at least…

Yahoooooooo!

The End.

How to get over 300 free backlinks in under one hour

Dear fellow netrepeneur. Maybe we share the same problem.

We have a great website, but little or NO visitors. Now what is a website without traffic?

It's like an old book lying full of dust cause nobody uses it.

What we want is traffic and loads of it. And would it not be great if we can get it for FREE? So how do we go about to get this FREE TRAFFIC? You know, theres a lot of Article Directories spread accross the internet which give Article Writers (Authors) the opportunity to post their articles there for free with a free backlink to their sites.

All you have to do is to register with these Article Directories, activate your account, create a penname and then add your articles. And this is exactly what I used to do. But let me tell you (not that you are not aware of it), IT IS A TEDIOUS TASK. I mean, to addone Article to ALL these directories manually can take days or even weeks of hard work.

I wondered if there was'nt a program available which could assist me with this task and found quite a few article submitters available. The only problem was that some Article Distributors was not free and those that were had some restriction (like it will post to only a certain amount of article directories).

You'll have to buy the full version to get the most out of them.

Others could not post to the correct Categorie at the Article Directories ( it will post an article about dogs under Finance for example). Now that is very unproffesional.

So started my journey to try and create a program that could just do everything the others could not.

1. AUTO-CREATE ACCOUNTS AT THE DIRECTORIES.

2. AUTO-CREATE PENNAMES AT THE DIRECTORIES.

3. AUTO-DELETE PENNAMES AT THE DIRECTORIES.

4. AUTO-POST ARTICLES TO THE MOST RELEVANT CATEGORY TOTHESE DIRECTORIES.

And guess what? I accomplished it. And noe I want to share it with you at absolutely NO COST.

Maybe you think that you can't write an Article? Let me tell you. YOU ARE WRONG!!!! I had the same thought at first, but what are you reading now? My article of course. You can write about anything under the sun.

You can even write an article about how you created your first website, or how you struggled to get traffic.

The sky is the limit. Below you will find a link to my site "Super Article Submiiter" where you can Auto-Post your articles in no time ABSOLUTELY FREE OF CHARGE!!!

However, all these would prove useless if he does not know how to drive traffic to his website. His business would sink into oblivion together with all the sales, fortune and dreams that he might have realized if he only knew how to do this particular task.

Getting people who matter to see one’s website is a difficult undertaking if he tries to consider the fact that there are rivals everywhere waiting to pin him down. The immensity of the internet as well as the affiliate marketing world has given birth to the fierce competition between affiliate marketers, each of whom has his own great product to offer. With all the websites piling on top of each other, how would one be able to stand out? The seven best ways to drive laser-targeted traffic to one’s own website would help those who are bent on sticking it out with this business wherever it is bound to take them.

The first step in driving traffic to one’s website is by relying on search engines and what they can do for the affiliate marketer concerned. Because they are popular for driving free targeted traffic, they should not be ignored by all means. Having top search engine rankings is vital in building popularity links, and the use of the right keywords is important in attaining this goal. Once a website is on top of the list, it is easily accessible to anyone who wants to see it for himself.

The second way in driving traffic to one’s website is by contacting other webmasters for a possible link exchange partnership. Locating websites that are related to one’s own website is the primary task. Once there, he should be able to establish communication by personalizing everything as much as possible. It is then possible to make reciprocal link exchanges between webmasters whichever way the affiliate marketer prefers.

The third way is through writing one’s own articles. This is an effective way in promoting a website, because good content that are appreciated by readers will lead them to visit the writer’s very own website out of sheer interest.

The fourth way is through joint venture marketing. This is one of the most effective ways of promoting a product or a service. Having a partner through ad swap or link exchange is beneficial to both parties as it allows them to reach a wide customer base in a short amount of time.

The fifth is through joining affiliate programs. Having affiliates to do the work means allowing them to bring tons of traffic to a website. Skyrocketing sales would be realized as a result, and both the affiliate and the website owner will benefit from the situation.

The sixth is by having a list of subscribers that one can refer to every so often, because they are those which would prove to be valuable assets for the marketer concerned. The use of autoresponders and personalized newsletters is one way of keeping track of them all, and holding on to them by letting them know about new products and services is an essential task that should be done by the affiliate marketer concerned.

The seventh is by knowing one’s market through and through. It is important for traffic to be targeted to those who might have a special interest in the theme or topic of one’s website. This way, a solid customer base is going to be created. Once a potential customer shows an interest in a particular website by paying it a visit, one must not waste time in trying to show him that his effort is worth it.

Traffic generating strategies are important in trying to make one’s affiliate marketing career inch forward. It is always advantageous to plan one’s moves in any business that he might undertake. This is particularly so in affiliate marketing. If one knows how to get people to see what he has to offer, then he is on the right track.

Belong to the exchange club - for website links that is

When used sensibly, website link exchanges can draw an exceptional amount of website traffic and greatly increase your search engine outcome. Nevertheless, remember that too many link exchanges can be harmful. You do not want your website clogged with other website links. This can look tacky and cause visitors to turn away from your website almost immediately. You can write to other website owners and ask them to place a link from their website to yours, but there are a few rules of etiquette you should follow. When you ask another website owner to place a link on their website, remember you are asking them for a favor. They are under no obligation to comply. If you are asking this favor from a website with more traffic than your own, this can greatly improve your link popularity and generate more website traffic your way.

If you decide to become a member of a website club that exchanges links, do your research carefully. Here are the top five tips to get you started with your website link exchange:

1. Show respect. When asking another person to place a link for your website on his or her website, be sure to ask nicely. It is very important to remain respectful. Never sound demanding or brag about how great your website, products or services are and how the person you are asking would benefit from granting you this favor. Do not make it sound like they need you. Also, do not ask many questions or attempt to flatter the recipient of your request. This may make them to delete your email inquiry immediately. Your request should only run between 2 - 6 sentences, not half a page. Be polite when asking, but do not over do it. You do not want to sound like a fraud.

2. Make sure you proofread your request. Before sending out a request to another website, check your grammar and spelling. You want the recipient to see you as a professional, not as a person who cannot spell correctly. Spelling errors and bad grammar can kill any opportunity to promote your website quickly. Avoid using slang in your request. Nothing can be more distracting and annoying than a poorly written request.

3. Send your request from your website’s professional email address, not your own email address. It is unprofessional to request this favor from a personal email account or a free email account. For example, if your website is www. lovemydog. org, then send your prospective link associates your request through the website’s email address: [email protected] org. Do not use your own personal account or a free email account.

4. Have a nice, high quality looking website. This will help you to look more serious and professional than a low quality generic looking web site. Also, be sure your website content looks professional and is free of any spelling or grammatical errors. Lose the clutter. Websites cluttered with ads can be distracting and hard to read. Having an attractive website will also help encourage other website owners to be more willing to work with you. Working with a professional is more attractive than being associated with an amateur.

5. Before you ask for your link on another person’s website, you can offer to place his or her link on your website first. This can increase your chances of having the other website place your link to their site. It can be as simple as one hand washes another. Just make sure that whatever links you use on your website have similar content to your own. It is better to have the websites compliment each other rather than clash with each other.

Exchanging web links is a great way to increase traffic to your website by increasing “link popularity” which can have a major affect on where your website appears on search engines. The websites that exchange web links with you will surely heighten your link popularity. This is especially true when the websites you are exchanging web links with have similar content as yours.

You can increase your targeted website traffic by exchanging web links with other websites. This will increase your link popularity and drive more people to your website through the links. Now do your research carefully and make your list on who you would like to contact for web link exchanges. Be careful to follow these top five tips closely and write away!

Boost your credibility and skyrocket your traffic by article submission

Web sites are made for surfers who read, scan and would want to know more about a particular topic or subject that they are looking for. Articles written for websites serve this particular purpose. But, believe it or not, surfers who search the web for relevant articles do so not by actually reading each and every article they encounter, they simply skim and scan over it.

It is discovered that only sixteen percent of users tested who regularly surf the web for information actually read every word of an article. A whooping seventy nine percent just scan it. All they do is choose among the many words in front of them and pick out the relevant words, phrases or sentences.

But, there is an exception though. In the same test, it was also discovered that articles that enjoyed a more than one hundred percent usability rating were articles that were concisely written, well-researched and objectively presented.

For articles that were average in content and form, this is where text scanning is definitely usable. Articles such as these would be easier to scan via keywords that are highlighted or in a different color or typeface.

What would it take then for an article to be easily readable enough at the same time be considered important? The following are basic tips to apply to a written article and to make it appear clear and comprehensible.

Apply sub-headings

Make sure to use sub-headings that are meaningful. Take note that these sub-headings need to be more contextual than cute or clever. Though making it cute is nice, a sub-heading that is more applicable and apt for the article’s topic is a more superior and enjoyable read than one who is striving only for cuteness.

Use bullets

Bullets that are made out into a list are an easier read than a lengthy list of paragraphs. It makes the article readable as it is straight to the point. Bullets should be short and snappy and must deliver the real deal. Not winding statements that really do not go anywhere.

A paragraph per idea

Users of the web are a very harsh bunch. They want a good read, a good article, and they want one fast and they want one good. So a paragraph that contains more than one idea will more likely cause their eyes to glaze over and intentionally skip these ideas especially if they find the first few words, phrases and sentence in the paragraph as not worthy of their attention.

Being credible is incredible

Credibility is the key ingredient for making an article stand out among the hundreds and thousands that proliferate over the internet. Since the web is a free for all medium, the source of information for a specific article maybe unclear at times making it sometimes a bit difficult to trust.

However, there are ways to increase the credibility of a given article. One of the many ways is through graphics that are of good quality. Another way is through the creation of outbound links in hypertext. Through this method, a user is able to connect to a link of another similarly related article thereby giving to users the impression that the article’s author did good homework is not clearly afraid to show other users similarly themed sites.

Boast it not

Writing that promotes and exaggerates a certain product, information or subject and putting out claims that such a product is, “the best thing ever” is very prevalent on the internet.

However, such articles do very little in the user’s perception as they process that this detail is a mere overstatement if not embellishment.

The best way to do it

According to a test conducted in measuring the usability of articles submitted to sites, it has been discovered that articles which were written in a succinct manner, had features and key words that are easily scannable as well as a style that is objective enjoyed a whooping one hundred and twenty four percent user rating compared to articles that were promotional in style (those who exaggerate). This type of articles have a usability rating of zero percent. Meanwhile, articles that were just concise had a fifty eight percent of user rating. Articles that were strictly objective had a twenty seven percent of user rating.

In summary, the more credibly valid an article is the greater and higher the probability that users will be more attracted to it, as well as the site that carries it.

Article may be freely published as long as the article, author's name and Bio information with link remains in tack. If used for an e-course, please inform the author via email. The contact info can be found on her site.

How to generate alot of buzz in your web traffic without paying a dime

If you have a website or you promote someone else's' website as an affiliate, you need to drive traffic to it.

Without traffic, you won't get visitors. And without visitors, you won't make money, sales, get subscribers, etc. What good is a website without any traffic? And if the site is getting traffic, what good is it if it's not targeted traffic?

There are many ways to drive traffic to your site, both free and paid. But we are not going to talk about paid traffic right now. That is a totally different topic and could take hours to cover.

So, back to free traffic. Some ways of getting free traffic to your site is by Search Engine Optimization, surfing for traffic, or getting it passively.

SEO takes time and a lot of work. When you join sites that are surf for traffic sites, you have to look at other members' sites in order to earn advertising credits for your site to be displayed when another member is surfing.

The only problem with this is that although the traffic is free, it is not targeted. Everyone who is a member only surfs for the credit and very rarely even looks at the site, they just minimize their window on their PC and multi-task. So, the traffic is crap and worthless.

Now, let's talk about the best way to get free targeted traffic. It's called Instant Buzz. Instant Buzz is a service that gives you advertising credits as you surf the web like you normally would. What you do is download the toolbar for free, it only takes a minute. Then, you set up your ads in the members area. And bam, you ads are being displayed on other members' tool bars as they surf.

You can also put Instant Buzz ads in emails that you send to your friends. These are called mail space ads. And your ad will get displayed in other members' emails. The last thing you can do is put a hyperspace ad on your website which will help you refer other members.

When you refer other members, you will also get a percentage of the credits they earn which will go towards your ad credits.

If someone likes your ad and is interested in what it says, then they click on it and end up on whatever site it was that you were promoting. Now that's targeted traffic! And it was free.

So make sure you visit the link in the resource box to start driving targeted and quality traffic to your website today. It will only take you a couple of minutes to start bringing visitors to your site.

What you need is traffic! Without traffic, your site is like a mansion in the middle of the Sahara desert and nobody will ever visit you. You need tons and herds of traffic that will cause a stampede and trample your site in an unstoppable manner! Only then can you earn money online non-stop and blow your profits through the roof.

But what happens if you are starting your online business on a shoestring budget and still need traffic. Well, the good thing about the internet is that it can allow the “little guy” to earn money online along with the big boys even with a low starting budget. With a bit of effort, the little guy can succeed as much as the big boys do. The following are some of the free methods to generate massive traffic to your site and let you earn money online with absolutely no costs at all.

1. Article Writing and Submission

This is by far the most rewarding free method and has stood the test of time as a powerful traffic generation strategy. Using your expertise and knowledge to write compelling and informational articles and submitting them to online article directories will reward you with more benefits than you can imagine. Your articles will come with your own resource box where you are allowed to place your own description and website links in them and allow the reader to click through to your website. Readers who like the information in your articles are going to perceive you as an expert in the field and are already pre-sold thus gaining you immediate credibility. By the time they reach your site, you are an expert in their eyes and whatever you sell on your site will seem like a million dollars to them and you will earn money online effortlessly.

Another huge benefit of article writing and submission include the backlinks that lie in the resource box. Many article writers who have no search engine optimization knowledge (SEO) will perceive the resource box as only a gateway to their site. But article writers with SEO knowledge will understand that backlinks are actually an important aspect of ranking high in search engines to earn money online. The text used with the backlinks known as “anchor text” determine what keywords your website will actually rank high in. This brings us to the next free traffic generation technique.

2. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Contrary to what many people say, search engine optimization (SEO) is not rocket science. With a little study and research, you will discover that the common techniques to rank high for the keywords you want are actually very simple. Here are some simple tips to get you going with SEO to earn money online the free way.

SEO starts off with on-page optimization. The page that you want to rank high for the specific keyword you want should ideally be centered on that keyword. What do you mean by centered on the keyword? It means the topic of your webpage should be focused on that keyword. Your page title, H1 H2 header tags, image tag, first and last paragraphs should have the keyword in it. The keyword density which is the number of times your keyword appears in the total number of words on the page should ideally be between 3-5% according to SEO experts. All these will contribute to your page ranking higher for the keyword you are gunning for and allow you to earn money online with ease. However, on-page optimization is not the only factor. Another major factor is off-page optimization.

Off-page optimization basically refers to off the page factors that can increase your ranking in the search engines. This is the part where a bit more effort is required to gain the traffic you desire. The most important off-page factor that affects the ranking of your webpage is the number of backlinks and the focus of the pages that are linking to your page. The pages that link to your page should ideally have the same focus as your page and thus are highly relevant to the content of your page. The anchor text used to link to your page should also consist of your keyword and the more of such backlinks you have the higher your page will rank in the search engines. Combining good on-page and off-page optimization is a deadly strategy for getting floods of free traffic that will let you earn money online non-stop.

The above two techniques serve as a starting point to generate hordes of free traffic and let you earn money online successfully. So take action now and bring your site out of the desert and let the world see its beauty. Be sure to read part 2 of the article to find out more powerful free traffic generation methods.

How to enhance web traffic conversion rate

These days, there is an intense competition online among the Internet marketers to be successful in their endeavors. People are leaving no stone unturned to achieve immense marketing success. Being unable to be patient for time taking website optimization process, people now are actively involved in paid advertisement of their businesses.

But just listing at top of search engine result page by various search engine norms, or getting 100 of clicks daily through paid advertisement do not bring smile on your face until and unless you get satisfying Conversion Rate of web traffic.

Here I am not disowning the power of search engine optimization, neither I am denying the superiority of paid advertisement processes; these are the factors which should be followed undeniably to get instant and guaranteed web presence. But what I intend to highlight right now is that we must not always give priority to enough web traffic or number of clicks rather we need to be focused on quality website design and development.

As your website represents your company and invoice the services that you offer, your website must be fine tuned with complete details on core business elements, key parameters, services that you offer, time taken and cost involved for each service, assurance on quality of deliverables, testimonials from clients, proper and easy contact details.

Your website content must be genuine and highly informative and you must work on it giving space to both web traffic and search engine spiders. No doubt spiders love to see fresh content every time they visit the web page, but stuffing of keywords in content just to satisfy spiders seems fruitless unless the content provides some desirable information to its readers.

Beside, your website design must be done efficiently with images matching your business theme in order to impart positive mindset among visitors. Site must provide constant navigation flow so that one must not get stuck while trying to get connected with desired links. This flawlessness speaks your professionalism.

Since success never comes easy, it demands sincere effort, so be well prepared first to give something better and useful information to your visitors if you really long for fair amount of conversion rate on your marketing approach. Do not stuff your website with irrelevant information and false promises. Just concentrate on your customers, visualize their needs and present your services accordingly and effectively so that they need not have to turn away from your site empty handed.

Remember, people just don’t need false promise makers; they need reliable host to stick and take up well approved services. Hence, your careful approaches on website design and development can make you that dependable host and people’s favorite website Development Company.

More traffic for your site

If your website traffic has suddenly come to a stand-still, you may need to give your site a marketing jump start. This is really directed towards Information Marketing (one of the best markets around) but can really be applied to anything. Here are a few ways to get your traffic flowing again.

1.Buy hits for your website.

Pay for targeted hits to your web site. You can do what is called “pay per click” advertising. This is where you pay search engines every tine some one clicks on your link for your web site. A great advantage to this is it almost instantly gets you visitors.

2.You can also send out a promotional email to the opt-in email list you SHOULD be creating by offering free reports or courses to your visitors.

3.Pay your competition a flat fee to email your promotional offer to their lists. This is a great way to build relationships with your competitors.

4.You can do what is referred to as a Joint Venture. This is when you pay someone a commission on sales when they email your promotional offer to their email lists.

5.You can pay for advertising on someone else's website by paying a flat fee up front to put an ad, banner or link on the site.

6.You can pay for advertising by offering a commission to your competition or anyone on sales when they put your ad, banner or link on their site.

7.You can submit your website to search engines with your keywords and website description.

8.You can submit your link to other websites, and in return, add them to yours.

9.You can write a free report or course to give away to other websites in your market and allow them to put an affiliate link inside (so they have an incentive to give it away), and give that away for free. If its good information, it will spread like a virus. This marketing concept is known as “viral marketing”.

10.If you have good material you can have a nice marketing edge because people will share the website because the enjoyed it. You can also offer affiliate programs so your customers can earn commissions when they refer some one to buy your product .

These should give you some good ideas to get more traffic, and maybe even spark some ideas of your own!

Best wishes,

Web promotion and web design tips for free

I hope you find this article beneficial and interesting. I am going to explain and give free web design and web promotion tips.

Cheap web design services.

You may think you need to spend hundreds or even thousands of pounds to have an internet prescence. Due to the amount of people offering the service of web design, this certianly does not have to be the case. In my opinion you should only have to pay between Ј50 and Ј100 to have a website built.

You can find these cheap web design companies by looking on internet auction websites, internet search engines or in the Yellow Pages.

Website promotion free tips.

It is important to most businesses to get as many visitors to their website as possible. You are able to achieve this by trying to obtain a high page rank or PR rating as some call it. In general the higher the page rank you have the more visitors you are likely to get.

To increase this page rank it is important to build up the number of backward links your website has. You can do this by e-mailing other websites preferably in the same business sector as your own and asking if they would be willing to swap links with your site.

Writing articles like the one you are reading here is another way of obtaining backward links. By submitting these articles to article websites, other webmasters are then able to use your article on their website, thus giving you an extra link. This is because you are able to add your information and web address in the author bio at the bottom of the page.

You may also want to consider google adwords. This is a form of pay per click where you pay to appear on the right side of the search results in the paid advertising section of the google search engine for a specific key phrase. Always remember not to spend more on the advertising than you are likely to earn from the website.

If you would like to earn extra money from your website you may want to consider google adsense. This is where google put ads onto your website. When your visitors click on the ads you get paid.

Drive traffic to your website through targeted marketing

So you got your website up and running. You hired an excellent web designer to craft a perfect home page and satellite pages that will really draw in the visitors and inspire them to buy. You have a beautiful catalog of products with detailed descriptions. You have a section dedicated to the services you provide with praises from past customers. And you have the best online shopping cart service out there so that you customers can buy from you with no hassles and next day shipping. That's great! Now where are your customers?

Driving traffic to your website is a much discussed and much misunderstood venture. There are a million theories out there that claim to drive tons of new visitors to your site daily. There are services that say they will increase your traffic by an enormous percentage if you will only pay them their small fee over a period of fifty years. There are so-called experts who will place your pages on all the best search engines on the net. They claim that with this kind of blanket exposure, your traffic numbers will explode within days.

But the only sure-fire way to draw productive traffic to your website is through targeted marketing. The important word to notice here is "productive." You can draw hundreds of thousands of visitors to your site every year by hosting a giveaway of some kind. Services that search the internet for freebies will have people clicking a link to your site like crazy. But these people are not there to buy anything from you ... quite the opposite. They are empty clicks. There is nothing productive about this kind of traffic. People looking for free stuff will rarely make you any kind of money. And that's what you're after, right?

So target your marketing to the people who really want to buy what you have to offer. How? Start by trying these basic steps...

* Hire an experienced copywriter. The copy that is on your site makes a world of difference in the sales you garner from the internet. Most important to targeted marketing are the keywords found in your title and the metatags in the website's code. An experienced copywriter will know how to determine the most effective keywords and place them strategically in your site's copy. If you cannot afford a copywriter, do some research and talk to your web designer about inserting metatags.

* You can enroll in pay per click search engines. Obviously, google. com is one of these, but most of the most popular keywords are already taken. If you can think of some original phrases that people use to search for your products or services, you can post your ad next to the text that comes up when people search for that phrase. Every time someone clicks on your ad to go to your site, you pay google. com a nominal fee.

* Submit articles to free ezine sites. This is especially helpful if you are a service provider. You can write, or hire someone to write, an article for you about your area of expertise. Give some free tips, offer your experience, and be accessible in the text. Then at the bottom of the article, you get a link to your website advertising your services. Every time someone publishes your article in their ezine, newsletter or article directory they must use your web address at the bottom.

These are just a few of the many ways to ensure you get "productive" traffic. Empty clicks are just that ... empty... and your wallet will stay that way, too!

Link popularity is the key to have huge amount of permanent and quality traffic

As a website owner, you may or may not realize the value of a campaign designed to increase link popularity. The results of such efforts serve to increase the amount of traffic not only because of the increased visibility of your website due to larger amounts of links. Additionally, the higher the number of relevant one way links coming into your site, the more you build link popularity.

In order to find out which sites on the internet have the highest link popularity, it is only necessary to go to a search engine and enter a word or phrase. Understand that the first sites to appear on your screen will be those that have invested resources to build link popularity. The steps necessary to increase link popularity may seem simple at first glance, but here are some reasons to hire a specialist to help you increase link popularity:

The search engine algorithms consider multiple items when assigning link popularity to particular sites. Internet marketing pros know how to build link popularity for your site.

It does matter where your site is listed. Free directory listings and reciprocal link programs seem like a great idea to increase link popularity, although if used incorrectly these services may actually detract from your link popularity.

An SEO specialist hired to increase link popularity will understand the interrelations of the major search engines. For example, they already know that Yahoo! rankings are tied directly to Google rankings. And more than that, they know how to get your site noticed.

A professional SEO specialist will already know the tricks to networking. They have experience with contacting the owners of sites containing similar content or themes in order to request link exchanges. They know the best way to get you the external links to your site in order to increase link popularity and site traffic.

It should by now seem fairly obvious that almost without a doubt if you want to build link popularity successfully, you are going to require outside help. Because your priorities need to be focused in other areas than SEO, hiring a link popularity SEO specialist is a fabulous way to save your time and increase your site traffic with a minor financial investment.

Of course, by hiring someone to build link popularity for your site you are going

to have a better return on investment than if you spent your own time trying to increase link popularity.

In closing, be aware that link popularity is perhaps the most important measure applied to a website with today’s search engine technologies. It takes a large investment of time to build link popularity for a newly launched site – and to increase the link popularity of an existing site. So, hiring an SEO specialist to perform this task on your behalf is a good investment to make when you consider the tangible benefits that happen very quickly on your site statistic and the search engine results pages.

BUT, it doesn’t take a whole caboodle of cash to generate website traffic for your site.

Many webmasters are willing to exchange links with one another so that they could produce more public awareness about their sites. This is like exchanging links but on a different higher level. This may cost a bit more than exchanging or trading links but could be made cheaper because you get to earn credits. You can use those credits when viewing others traffic, while you earn credits when someone views yours.

Traffic exchange services are the viewing of another’s site or page. This is done vice versa where a site can use your sites contents and so can you to his or her site. You both benefit from each others efforts to generate traffic. The other sites visitors can go to your pages and know more about your site as well as theirs. Once again the public awareness of your sites existence is boosted.

Write and Submit Articles

There are many e-zines and online encyclopedias in the internet which provides free space for articles to be submitted. If you want to save costs, you can do the articles yourself. There are many freelance writers who are willing to write for you for a small fee, but to save money, it is wise to do those articles yourself.

Write articles that are themed along with the niche of your site. Write something that you have expertise on so that when they read it, they can feel your knowledge about the subject and will be eager to go to your site. Write articles that produce tips and guidelines to the subject or niche your site has.

Include a resource box at the end of your article that can link them to your site. Write a little about yourself and your site. If you provide a light, information-laden and interesting article, they will go to your site for more.

Make a Newsletter.

This may sound like hard work because of all the articles you may need to use to build a newsletter but on the contrary, this is not so. There are many writers and sites that are willing to provide free articles as long as they can get their name in on your newsletter. This will also provide free advertising for them as well.

Share your two cents and let them see how knowledgeable you are with the subject. As you build your reputation, you also build the reputation of your site, making it a reputable and honest business that could be frequented and trusted by many people.

5 ways to get your webste noticed

Your website is just one of the billion sites parked on the World Wide Web. Chances are, you don’t think yours will ever get noticed.

We hear your cries for cyber attention. Here are five ways to get people clicking on to your site.

1.) Make sure it’s professional looking.

No one likes looking at website that reminds them of a book report they wrote back in school. Invest in learning a good web design program (Dreamweaver MX and Microsoft Frontpage are good picks), and let your creative juices flow. Make sure it’s compelling, well-designed, and organized. People don’t exactly find it fun to weed through haystacks of cyberfiles to get the information that they want.

On that note, don’t make it a heavy site. Putting up some flash intros may be great eye candy, but the average internet surfer only waits 10 seconds for a page to load, and then they’re off to the next.

2.) Put your URL on every search engine possible.

Putting your URL on business cards and bugging your family and friends to check out your site won’t exactly increase traffic. Submitting it to search engines will make it easier for people to find you, provided that your webpage carries the topics they’re looking for. To understand how a search engine works, think of it as a “spider”: it crawls through your website, picking up words and information which would later be indexed in the search engine’s database. So make sure you pepper your site with keywords you think are relevant to what people are looking for. Web directories, like Yahoo!, are operated by humans who actually categorize the websites themselves.

If you don’t feel like submitting your website to numerous directories, consider subscribing to sites like www. submit-it. com, who, for a fee, will automatically submit your site to search engines and directories for you.

3.) Link everywhere.

Find other sites that carry similar content as yours and ask to exchange links. Create banners to be placed on other peoples’ websites, and offer to the same for them on your site. Add your URL on your e-mail signature. Join webrings if you must—there’s nothing like strength in numbers.

4.) Advertise offline.

The world of cyberspace isn’t enough to get you noticed. Write up press releases and send them to local newspapers and magazines. Print out fliers to be distributed. Just make sure that your site is already up and running to avoid giving people a bad impression (no one likes getting pumped up for something only to get disappointed).

5.) Interact with your readers.

Put up forums or message boards for your visitors to interact with each other. Chat rooms are often time-consuming for some, while message boards allows them to check back every so often for replies. Create an e-mail list so you can update your visitors about new developments, and always be open to feedback—that’s what will make your site even better.

Lead generation machine - turn your site into one

Everyone builds a web site thinking it will be the next big thing. Here’s how to really turn your web site into a lead generation machine.

Lead Generation Machine

With a few simple steps, you can turn your web site into a lead generation machine. Grab the attention of your audience, direct your audience, get feedback, keep track, optimize follow-up efficiency and market. Here's how:

Hook

Get your audience interested in what you have to offer. Make it exciting with catchy copy and compelling graphics. Project professionalism and let you potential customer know how much better off they will be with your product or service. Do this as soon as possible on the entry page.

Direct

Tell your audience what to do. If you tell your audience what to do and you have created the impression of authority, they are likely to follow your advice. Tell your audience to buy your product or, if it is a service you sell, fill out an information request form.

Form

Use your information request form to grab essential information about your potential client. Use an online form to find out exactly what your potential client wants. Use tracking tools to see where the lead originated from, such as what search engine and keyword phrase.

Database

The information from the form should be inserted into a database for easy searching, scheduling and record keeping. Having a good data base system is essential for the next step.

Follow up

Follow up with your potential clients, using your database to schedule events and send marketing material. Stay in front of your clients with an email newsletter and friendly calls scheduled through out the year. You want your potential client to remember who you are, so they think of your company when it comes time to make a purchase.

Marketing

Use search engines, advertisements, television, radio, magazines, billboards, word of mouth, web ads and anything else you can to bring people to your site. If there are no people coming to your site, the best lead generation tools in the world won't help you get new clients.

Web sites can be very effective lead generation machines. Put some thought into yours and you should benefit.

How do traffic exchanges work and how do i get free traffic

Imagine the next time you join a discussion about traffic. When you start

sharing the fascinating traffic facts below, your friends will be absolutely amazed.

Traffic Exchanges offer a great free way of promoting your business. They should be included in your advertising arsenal but make sure that you leverage your time effectively and you don't surf for hours for those advertising credits. Try to find a traffic exchange program that will not hinder your normal surfing behavior, while advertising your business, and you will be one of the few people who maximize their time and effort with this free marketing tool.

Some traffic exchange services will make your surfing experience a bit more complex, since you would have to wait for a timer to expire in order to be awarded credits, and while that timer counts down you are forced to view another person's website from the network.

Some of these measures were taken by the traffic exchange programs in an effort to minimize or eliminate cheating, as some users have created ways to cheat the system by using software programs that auto surf and earn them credits.

Typically, participants to traffic exchanges will surf the Internet with a

slight modification of how they normally would, in an effort to collect credits.

The less departure from the normal surfing experience, the more the webmaster will be willing to use that traffic exchange program. Also, the less you force a user to view your website, the more targeted they will be for that product or service. For example, someone who reads a headline in a traffic exchange and clicks on it to view the website is more targeted than someone who views it because they are forced to wait for a timer to expire.

Now that you have an overview of what traffic exchange programs are, and how they work, lets have a look at their main benefits:

1. You can recruit affiliates to gain more exposure to your site

2. You can build a list to market your products to

3. They're free to use

4. Targeted Traffic (for Internet Marketing)

So far, we've uncovered some interesting facts about traffic. You may decide that the following information is even more interesting.

Almost all traffic exchange services are free, although you can upgrade

your membership to get additional benefits in some. This means that someone

with a low or no budget can quickly start advertising their website for

little or no cost.

If your product is Internet marketing related then the traffic you would

receive to your website will be somewhat targeted because they will be

people who are also looking for ways of increasing their online income

and traffic.

To capture these names and add them to your email list have a page designed to give out a freebie or a 5 part e-course in exchange for an email address. You can then follow up with these leads and sell them more stuff in the future.

If you have your own product and affiliate program, you can recruit affiliates to sell your products for a commission. The more people selling your products, the more passive income you will make.

In conclusion, Traffic Exchange programs are services that are used by webmasters to attract more traffic and to obtain more exposure for their business.

There are different types of traffic exchange programs. Many will let you surf the Internet as you normally would but require that you set your browser's start page to their default advertising page. Then, every time your browser loads one of their pages you earn advertising credits. You can also get credits for clicking on links of other members in the network. The credits you earn can be used in exchange for visitors to your site.

Don't limit yourself by refusing to learn the details about traffic. The more you know, the easier it will be to focus on what's important.

5 proven methods to building traffic

As the internet age advances, more and more businesses are finding new life online. The potential benefits of such a venture are great as the internet allows for access to millions of possible customers across the globe. The startup costs tend to be lower as many entrepreneurs run their online businesses from home. Unlike a physical store or office, online businesses are usually open 24hrs a day, everyday. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the success rate for startup online businesses is about 10% as 9 out of 10 online businesses simply don’t work. Getting traffic to your site can be the most difficult of tasks. There you are eager and ready, your website looks great, your merchandise or service is ready and the future seems bright. So how do you get people to come to your site? The following will give you 5 methods that will help steer you in the correct direction.

1. Search Optimization

Search optimization is the method used to allow for your website to be ranked higher as a result of a search for specific keywords or phrases by a search engine such as Google or Yahoo. Businesses will target certain keywords that are relevant to their content and place them on the homepage and/or other pages on their site. As an example we can look at the online retailer, jewelrypayless. com. They optimize words such as "silver jewelry" or “men’s ring”, etc. When Google receives a request for one of these key words jewelrypayless. com will come up in the search results. It is, however, not as easy as this. Your site may show up on page 100 buried deep within the search result listings. In order to get listed higher more work has to be done, as described in this article. Also, the act of optimizing a site requires some knowledge of HTML which is the basic language with which websites are built. You can use an HTML editor such Dreamweaver or Frontpage to add keywords to the pages which you are optimizing.

2. Linking Strategy

Websites often reserve an area of their site dedicated to links. The page usually consists of categorized links pointing to other recommended sites. Usually, websites will exchange links for mutual benefit. The more links you have pointing to your site, the better. Links to your site(inbound) show the search engines that your site has value. The best way to go about this process is to establish good content on your site and begin targeting websites you would link to exchange links with. You can buy software to help you do this or you can manually send out link exchange invitations via email.

3. Pay Per Click

The fastest way to get traffic is through pay-per-click advertising. Essentially, every time a web surfer clicks on an ad of your creation, you will pay. The price can range from 25 cents to $2 per click depending on the popularity of the keyword or phrases you’ve chosen. Basically, your ad will pop up in an area designated for paid ads once the keyword has been searched. It is important that you understand the correct keywords for your business in order to avoid paying unnecessary fees for irrelevant keywords. The most effective and popular of the pay per click ad sponsors are Google and Overture. You can also use shopping malls such as Nextag. com, Bizrate. com or Shopping. com to advertise via pay-per-click. Make sure to set your budget and monitor the results carefully making adjustments as you go along. Pay-per-click can be unreasonably expensive if not managed carefully.

4. Affiliates

Affiliates are companies, individuals and organizations that you have established business relationships with in order to increase your exposure and sales revenue. Affiliates send traffic to your site via a link representing your business on their site. If the prospective customer should buy from you the affiliate gets a commission from the transaction. In order to use affiliates you are required to register with an affiliate program and begin recruiting affiliates to work for you. Offering a handsome commission can attract affiliates to sign up. Having a professional website that will be easy for them integrate with their own site can also peak the interests of potential affiliates. Always treat your affiliates well, paying them on time and communicating with them on a regular basis.

5. Offline Advertising

An often neglected part of marketing online businesses, offline advertising, can be an effective means by which to bring in new customers and create “word of mouth” interest in your site. Ads in magazines, newspapers, tv, radio and local publications are some of the ways through which you can promote your business. Passing out flyers or sending out postcards can also result in new business, especially if you are offering a discount in the form of an exclusive coupon code. Be creative in trying to promote your business on a grass roots level. Read books such as “Guerilla Marketing” by Jay Levinson to gain insight on how to go about marketing in a cost effective manner.

In conclusion, succeeding online can be difficult but rewarding. If you use these methods to help you in your research and application of a business and marketing strategy, along with sacrificing time and putting forth a strong effort there is a good chance that you will be successful with your online business.

Stop buying traffic

Traffic Scams & Warnings brought to you by http://www. nerdlib. com/

What is a Traffic Scam?

A traffic scam is designed to give a false sense that you can spend any amount of money and you will magically begin to get high quality traffic. This cannot be any further from the truth. These scams are designed to bring you fake hits, popup, popunder and proxy based traffic. The worst quality you can imagine and none will ever yield a sale. Below you will see a list of the above items and what they actually are.

Popups These are ads that rudely popup into a surfers face when they are browsing or surfing the web. These were widely used in the 90's and now have been ported into rollover or flying ads that again are very intrusive to a surfer.

Popunders These types of ads are a bit more sneakier as they do not appear until all browsers are closed and there is an advertisement sitting on your desktop, again very intrusive.

Fake hit machines Yes, these exist and most of these traffic scams use them in a massive way. They setup scripts to change the referrer of a faked hit to make it appear like it is real and coming from somewhere.

Proxy hits This is by far the dirtiest tactic of them all. Server proxy lists are put together, shared and sometimes even sold to other people to use as a mask to hide themselves while they spam, spoof hits or possibly even worse like sending a virus from an internet cafe.

How to spot one?

Spotting out these hits is really not that difficult at all. Your average visitor will stay at the page for sometime before closing it. So have a look at your logs and see how long these guys stay. Take your average user and weigh that against some of the more suspicious ones. Keep in mind that bots such as Google or Yahoo Slurp will identify themselves very clearly in your logs and might have a short visit period. The unique visitor that stays 2 seconds and seems to stay only 2 seconds visit after visit is most likely a "fake" hit.

These companies even use these fake hits to boost PR and Alexa ranking. So don't judge these guys because they have a high ranking. It is very hard to find a really traffic provider that is not scamming to some degree.

If everyone is a scam then what is the solution?

Well not everyone is a scam but most of the "cheap hits" programs are. So we advise you stay away from all of them and just build the traffic yourself. Search engine traffic has proven time and time again to be the highest quality of traffic to a website. It is completely targeted to your audience because the user was searching for you.

The answer to building your traffic is quite simple - content is king. The idea is to build as much content as possible so that the search engines will come around spider then index your pages. Relative content will yield the results you seek. For example if you put together articles related to your "widget" and keywords appear in your article about these "wdigets" and what they do then there is a greater chance when some one searches for "super widget" that they will find your site.

There is a lot of calculation in a search engine algorithm but it has been proven that the one thing that remains the same is content out weighs all other factors.

How to I build effective pages?

We have designed our software Maximum Traffic with search engines algorithms as the primary goal. We allow you to build your pages quickly and effectively to get you the highest possible rankings in the search engines. Our 15 day trial version will even yield results in that short of a time.

Using the software once might work but to be successful for the long-term effect you need to build build build and then build some more.

Who are the scammers?

We cannot name the names of the site for legal reasons but we can say most of them are the same site moving form domain name to domain name because of getting a bad reputation. These sites saturate the market and then move the domain to a new one and claim that they are the new kid on the block with the best traffic. Don't get duped by these guys, do a Whois on the domain, call the company up, find a physical address and call these guys out. Do not let them take your hard earned money and give you nothing in return.

Conclusion

We hope that this article has shed some light on this internet craze. The thing to remember is that search engine optimization takes time and most of all patience. Lack of patience will just have you spending money in the wrong places. We have developed a line of products for people to use that will get them results - end of story. We are in this long term and will be around for many more years to come.

Creating a successful product allows us to never have to worry about customer satisfaction or having to pickup and move our shop because of a bad reputation. We feel that if we are upfront and honest with each and every person then in the long run they will understand that we are all in this together. We all should be helping each other have successful web sites and no trying to steal each others profits.

Put yourself in the surfer's shoes for a moment. Would you open any of those intrusive ads? So then why would anyone want to open yours or furthermore want to use your service by finding it in a popup or popunder ad?

Good luck and God bless.

Tips to create banners that make people rush to your website

The internet world has made banner advertising a popular and widespread form of advertising where practically all the websites have one or the other form of banner advertising on it. Though it is thought that the effectiveness of banner advertising on the web has declined, there are many tips, which if followed, prove to make people rush to your website!

People have no time to wait. So make sure the banner ad uses only a small file. This is because a large. gif or. jpg file takes a few seconds to download, wherein the visitor may have either left the page or just scrolled down the page without seeing the banner. And if people don’t see your banner, they are sure not going to click on it! So make it a point to restrict your file size to below 10K or 15K;it may be difficult, but where there is a will, there is a way! Make it a point to have a call to action on your banner. This means having the words ‘click here’ or ‘sign up now’, where you guide the user to click on the banner. The main reason this has to be included is that people are so used to off-line advertising where people just see banners, without having to do anything. They are usually not aware that they have to click on the banner to find out more! So make it a point to have a call to action on your banner ad to improve the effectiveness of the banner.

People are always more attracted by moving elements in a banner. As the whole idea of banner advertising is to grab the attention of the reader, using small animation in the banner is sure to achieve this. However, make it small because if the file for the animation is large, then its downloading time will be long. This tries on the patience of the web user and may annoy them. When annoyed, they may also just leave without clicking on the banner. The incorporation of some sort of fake element in the banner also makes the banner successful. There are many fake elements’ banner designers can use like fake scroll bars, fake text boxes and fake submits buttons. When using fake elements, the web user think that they are clicking on a link to another page when clicking on a fake scroll bar, when in reality, they are actually clicking on a banner with a picture of a button and text link.

When designing the banner, use bright colors like blue, green and yellow as they have a higher CTR than black and white banners. The color red should be used sparingly. It is quite advisable using the word “free” in the banner as you are bound to get more clicks this way. Of course, you should decide on this free offer, according to the object of the banner ad. Show the reader that clicking on the banner will prove to be beneficial to him or her. You could place questions like ‘do you want more traffic’ or ‘need help with taxes’ in the banner, wherein the answer is found on your website. People don’t have the patience to read long banners; so keep them short. When people click on a banner, they want to go directly to the web page to find the information they want. They don’t have the patience to end up on the home page to go hunting for the required information.

Another important point to be remembered about banner advertising is to place the banner on sites that target for your target audience. This means, that if you have a banner for a new golf club, it is of no use placing it on a site dedicated to software. Visitors to this site will not be interested in the banner, thus leading to no clicks on the banner, and thus a waste of your money. Emphasize the benefits of your product, and not it’s features, as this is what interests a visitor more. It is always better to test your banners by designing several banners using different styles and messages. Run each banner for a week or two, and collect data on its click through rates. Then analyze the data to determine what is common among the successful banners. You can then refine your banner ad accordingly and test them again.

Use all these tips in your next banner ad, and you are bound to find some improvements in its popularity with more people rushing to visit your site!
